There has been a lot of debate over the opening day collections of OUATIMD. So to clear all the confusion, here is the official press release from Balaji Motion Pictures. Do note that they mention the word ‘previews’ as the film had a restricted release all over. Today (Friday) will be the film’s first day at the box office.
Having released in approx. 1600 screens across India, Balaji Motion Pictures’ Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara took a flying start on the day of its bank holiday previews (Thursday).
Despite a delayed release in Rajasthan (on account of protests), the collections netted a record-breaking Rs. 14.2 Cr for previews.
Theatres showed strong occupancy levels (80%-90%) with Housefull status in several centres.
On Friday, the film has opened up in approx. 2500 screens (including single screens), with sustained word-of-mouth and great response in the morning and afternoon shows. Going by these trends and with no other new release on the weekend, OUATIM Dobaara is poised to continue its winning streak.
There will be one more record in Indian cinema. First day collection of outimd will be less (11.5 cr) than its paid preview (14.25 cr)….Balaji rocks

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara had good start on Thursday in tems of occupancies. This was due to it being a holiday and the film having a limited release which allowed it go houseful at many places. The film went wide on Friday and recorded average occupancies and collections were lower at many palces despite extra screenings. The film will struggle at the box office.
Chennai Express set new benchmarks as it grossed around 145 crore nett in week one. The film dropped on Friday as compare to what it did in week one though the collection on Friday is pretty good and will be amongst the top five second Friday’s of all time. Looking at the likley second week trends the film will emerge the biggest or second biggest domestic grosser of all time. BLOCKBUSTER

I am really amused by the dumb SR paiKhan’s fans! They are numerically challenged. What can one expect of these fans, majority of whom are madarassa “graduates”? Thursday shows are indeed a preview as the movie got released in just 1200 theaters and not any other number! If you dispute 14.2 crore earnings as reported officially by the producers, on what basis you say that a trashy movie like CE could surpass 100 crores in just 4 days? This is ridiculous! And now for Friday collections. According to one source OUATIMD collected around 16 croores from 2500 screens. This is a great achievement! Because CE ran on Friday which was Eid day and all the Islamic fanatics rushed to watch their Islamic idol SR paiKhan monkeying around on the screen, straight from the mosques! Hindus are hard working people and dont have time to go to movies on a working day! OUATIMD still made a killing! Losers are SR paiKhan’s fans. They dont have brains at all!

What !!!..Can’t stop laughing. Is that the official press release from Balaji? Man, really feeling pity for them fellas. They released a movie on 15th August, yet term it as a preview. Previews only begin with evening shows in some selected theaters a day before the actual release date of a movie. OUATIMD shows began from morning on 15th August and they also have advertised the release date as 15th August. So who are you fooling? It is not a very bad movie, it is one time watchable, but with this nonsense press release, Balaji has gained enough Bad Word of mouth to make it a blunder. And about those fake figures, you can lie to the media, but can you lie to yourself ?, Never. Now stop making these mistakes again and try your best to help this movie break even.

ouatimd will be a blockbuster…..I don’t want to explain about the film,watch and judge yourself,that who is a better film…..ouatimd will be remembered forever but CE won’t……coz there is nothing special in CE like ouatimd…….CE realesed in 4000+ screens + eid holiday worldwide but ouatimd in 2400 screens,so collections figure is different….but really ouatimd is a must must must watch movie…..akshay is killer…..
I think akshay is one of those actors in the bollywood who gives his all to the film, so I think all the people whether they are the fans of srk or sallu you should support the hardworking and talented actor Akshay kumar..
Ouatimd collections has been hit by so many things..Postponement of the movie,low no.of screen release on Independence day, media hype for chennai express and ignoring ouatimd , specially by zee and etc network.. I think the zee networks is the most biased channel in particular as far as the akshay is concerned.The support of srk’s community is also a plus point for him after his patch up with salman khan just before the release of Chennai express..The whole world knows that otherwise CE has nothing special in it to become such a hit..
