Akshay Kumar’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again, the first film announced for the lucrative EID weekend, has been postponed by a week. The sequel will now release on Independence Day.
It was producer Ekta Kapoor’s decision to postpone OUATIMA, as two major releases on the same day could eat into each other’s business.
A source close to the film says “The move to postpone Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again will prove to be immensely beneficial for the film. Not only has a major clash been averted, but OUATIMA too releases on a major holiday. The decision has been taken in the best interest of both films.”
It’s confirmed then, Chennai Express gets a solo release on August 8. Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again hits screens a week later on August 15.

remember all prakash jha movies.only rajneeti was a blockbuster.because it got hype because of ranbir and katrina a d their linkup.
i think there must be some deal between utv and balaji.like postponement of satyagraha.
balaji did a favour to utv and utv also will do,but we have to wait for some time.

There are 3 back to back film between every week in august. Both 3 films are in risk. 1st chennai express box office collection will affected by OUATIMA. So CE may not have enough success in box office. Than OUATIMA box office also affected by satyagraha. Satyagraha are in risk because of this two big films. Seeing CE & OUATIMA, people will lose their insterest about big film. This things will affect its box office collection. However between these 3 film one will blockbuster, one will hit & one will average. We have to just see whos film is bb, whos film is hit & whos film is average.
On March 7, on the set of ‘Chennai Express’ in Wai, Shah Rukh Khan had asked his team to ‘Get ready for Eid’. The formal announcement of the release date (August 8) had created quite a flutter in the industry, with filmmakers either making way for the Rohit Shetty juggernaut or, as in the case of Ekta Kapoor, deciding to take the challenge head on with ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Dobara’.
Nearly three months, many meetings and much deliberation later, Ekta has decided to shift the release date of her ambitious film. It will now release a week later, on Independence Day. OUATIM – Again, is likely to rub shoulders with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Kaanchi’.
Insiders say Ekta finally paid heed to her well wishers, who reasoned that the films could eat into each other’s profit, and decided to give the two films enough space to reach out to their respective audiences.
Sources close to Balaji say, a representation was made from the makers and stake holders of Chennai Express to Jeetendra, requesting him to reconsider the release date in the interest of both the films. The veteran actor spoke to the Balaji team to do the needful to avert the clash.
“It made better sense to release the Akshay-Imran starrer on the next bank holiday, i.e. August 15,” said the source. However, at the time of going to press, this part of the development could not be verified.
The Eid clash of the two powerpacked films had been much anticipated by fans and the film fraternity. “However, Chennai Express and OUATIM – Again belong to two different genres and there is enough and more room for two good films to work at the box office, even if they release on the same day,” said an industry insider on the condition of anonymity.
I remeber those days when sum akshay and sallu fans were trying to prove that srk ll loose this eid …moreover , some also claimed that srk is not releasing the trailer bcoz he got scared by ouatima trailer…now result is infront of u….in fact , ekta got scared by the buzz….according to etc business, the buzz for ce was 60% nd for ouatim again was only 14%….plus, ouatima trailer was not appealing..it was not liked by people that much….but srk’s ce is already rocking as those distributors, who watched the trailer of ce, were too excited to get the rights…Komal nahata confirmed the same…so clever ekta took this decision…
hahaha…now everybody will get , who is scared nd who is not…..my srk had told earlier that ” i am here to rule….so don’t mess wid me”…. nd the same thing is reflected here…he used to declare his dates nd firmly stand wid that irrespective of the clash…..even last diwali, ajay was not in the mood of clash, but he was propelled by a “crapstar” to let srk down…but ajay and that crapstar both failed to complete their dreams…..

If you have any predictions regarding the collections of CE, then you can express it using your own ID.But what you doing, may be considered as a cheap move of a looser, nothing else. I don’t know, to which actor you follow, but it’s really sad that he has a fan like you.
And if you are predicting about CE, then yeah, now i am sure that CE will minimum collect 135 cr. Mark my words. The collections may surpass my imaginations, but it can’t go below my expectation. Just wait and watch.

Now, CE will have only 7 day week one (8 Aug, Thursday to 14 Aug, Wednesday; as OUATIMA will copme on 15 Aug, Thursday)
with one festival Holiday (Eid on opening day) and one weekend.
While, OUATIMA will get 8 days week one (15 Aug Thursday to 22 Aug Thursday; as Satyagraha will come on 23 August, Fiday)
with one National Holiday (Independence day on 15 Aug, opening day + regular weekend + one festival holiday (20 Aug, Raksha Bandhan-which peoiple are not factoring).

@boss….i m not abusing akki…clear ur facts….rohit has never requested akki to postpone his film…in fact , srk is a person, who sticks with his dates firmly, once he get it fixed, irrespective of the clashes….nd the same scenario is visible here…now if u r expecting that ce collections will be less than 120 cr…then ur completely wrong…now, ce’s lifetime will be more than 150 cr…nd it has a chance to cross 130 cr in its first week itself…now, as far as toi is concerned, read these lines from “koimoi”…
The reason for the release delay is unknown but it is unlikely that Akshay Kumar or Balaji was intimidated by Shah Rukh Khan or Rohit Shetty’s popularity. Settling itself comfortably between the release of two of year’s biggest releases Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express and Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, OUATIMA has guaranteed itself a safe cocoon of stable performance and collections!

only bumper opening for CE but wont sustain longer due to OUATIMA release next week. Maximum 125 crores not more than that.

sajid khan had done 3 films with AKKI & then done a film with Ajay, and THE FILM WAS FLOP…
AND at a time rohit after doing much film with Ajay does a film with SRK, SO WHAT WILL BE THE RESULT… PLZ IMAGINE….
