Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who doesn’t attend any of the popular Indian award ceremonies, says that the Academy Awards is just an opportunity to get more audience to watch the film.
“For me, the Oscars is a window from which your audience increases…I see it in that way only. Oscars can’t tell me whether my film is good or bad and I am not interested in that. My interest with Oscars is that it’s an opportunity for a film to get a larger window to a larger audience,” Aamir said
“Audience are unaware of your film, but if you manage to get nominated then there is a whole world out there who wants to see your film, who otherwise would not have known about your film. It’s an opportunity to get your film viewed by more people.”
Aamir, who has just delivered the biggest grosser of all time in Dhoom 3, also said that he would only want to know if his film is good or bad from his audience.
“Whether the film is good or bad, this I want to hear form the audience and not from anyone else”
Aamir’s home-production Lagaan was one of only 3 films to receive an Oscar nomination.

Dhoom is the biggest brand in bollywood today,which was made this big by stellar performance from hrithik in Dhoom 2(which became the highest grosser then)..Aamir ate the food that was left by HR…
And don’t talk about 3idiots and ghajini,they were very good movies(my personal fav.),so they meant to break records..
Don 2 suffered big time bcoz of his disappointing Raone released a month ago.
If aamir starts doing films without much gap,his collections will also be affected.

True,i was disappointed with D3,bcoz i expected a better movie from aamir.
I watched talaash in a single screen and the response there was very negative,but i liked the movie very much as it was a new attempt in bollywood,b.o collections don’t matter..
Lets Hope that he gives a masterpiece with P.K…
@nipun lootera is a poor copy. of aamir khans film fanaa.In Fanaa also the guy betrays her trust and turns out to be this bomber. He comes back to her and she is blind enoughto notice that..He is the reasonfor her father ‘s death (Rishi Kapoor) and finally has the police behind him. Kajol shoots him . In Lootera, this guy betrays her trust and turns out to be a robber. He comes back to her and she is sick enough to raise a hue and cry. He is the reason for her father’s death (some Bong actor) and finally has the police behind him. The police shoots him, fanaa is 100times better than lootera.
ok, if audience is only parameter for u, then aamir, u have made the most pathetic movie in history of bollywood!!

The actor should challenge himself in different kind of roles.

And if you are saying about Indian awards then I will ask you following questions-
1.In big star entertainment awrds of 2013, what was the reason to give award to srgay for chennai express? As it is record breaker?Then why not award to aamir or salman for ghajani, 3 idiots or films like that?(And 3 idiots or ghajani were billion times better than ce)
2. What was the reason to give award to srgay or kat in zee cine awards as international icon?
That award was not given to anyone before them!

@prince:i disagree. There are Only a few similarities in the storyline. But if u see lootera properly,it is different from fanaa.the direction,screenplay,message,climax,script all were different. Fanaa isn’t an off beat film.but lootera is an off beat film.didn’t u see the leaf concept? ?was it in fanaa?the characters were different too.
They make up new award categories every year, just so everyone gets an award. Indian movie awards are practically worthless
You make me laugh Aamir Khan, this man is so horny for the oscars that after Lagaan he came with Mangal Pandey. Thinking of this film to reach the oscar hahaha, sab koi jaante ish film ka haal kya howa. Aamir Khan is just lucky, Lagaan and 3 Idiots was first offered to SRK, but SRK was committed with other movies so he let go. For Taare zameen par, he stole the idea of the film from the former director. In Dhoom 3 his acting as Sahir was terrible, the actions compensate his failure + the young boy who portraits young Samir. He could take a few acting lessons from him. For D3 he maked the biggest propaganda ever: saying Salman is the biggest star. And yes all salman khan fans went to see D3. For Taalaash his taalaash goes further where the film flopped. Yes Salman today is Nr:1 at the boxoffice, SRK is 2 en Aamir is nowhere. D3 isn’t his, it’s a brand from Dhoom series, he is just a actor. If Hritik, SRK, Akshay would do this film, records were broken also. More screens, no competitions for films, holidays etc.
@aniel i am happy that Aamir made you laugh but tell me this laughing is similar to Dr Asthana laughter,whatever laughter is best therapy. That young kid Siddharth was brilliant in d3 that’s why Aamir given great performance as Sahir and Samar,and there is no problem if someone doing better act than Aamir,because every actor has limit and by seeing someone doing better work simply influence Aamir too because he always ready to explore himself,thanx for giving advice and please comment your mind with ariel/antenna so that you get signal properly and it will enhance your mind and you can enjoy further laughter therapy.

@babaji ka thullu hahahaaa very funny while writing the comment did you forget Hrithik worked in Dhoom2 not in Dhoom1 so he already ate apple of previous success and don’t talk rubbish if you like D2 the best doesn’t mean everybody think like you,any brand or superstar work finished in 3 days and D3 collected 102cr in 3 days all version so if movie was seem to bad for everybody than large section of audiences given their verdict as a bad movie and it will affect the success of the movie, it raked 160cr more after the weekend till 3rd monday, more than the lifetime of many big movies of last year, so stop joking, you are here to judge your view not underestimating others hard work went throughout the movie which appreciated by large chunk of audience.
Yes.. Aamir Khan said it many times.. that all he cares about is the audience.. if he liked his film or not.. but it’s also difficult to say that because ppl’s taste is just different.. what I find is good and so good.. others may find it boring or bad and vice versa.
For me.. I found Dhoom 3 is a bad film with full of unrealistic action scenes, and a boring last 30 minutes ( at cinema.. in the last 30 minutes.. I didn’t bother to continue watching it and was checking my messages on phone)
Katrina who made it a successful film.. all the credit goes to her despite her short role but she made everyone go and watch the film.
If any film of Aamir which deserves the academy award.. for me it was Talaash, from the newest ones
