Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir has slammed the celebrations at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata saying he has had enough of it, and if the team does win in the future, there would be no such celebrations.
“I must say I was disappointed by the inconvenience KKR’s felicitation ceremony caused to Kolkatans. As it is cricket fans in India, who are the most important stake-holders, are not treated well.” the KKR captain said in his final blog for Hindustan Times.
“To make matters worse there was lathicharge on innocents. God-willing my KKR team wins many more trophies but as far as I am concerned we’re done with such felicitations.” he added.
A huge crowd of more than a lakh people had gathered both inside and outside the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where VVIP’s like Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee were in attendance.
When the situation got out of control, the police officials lathicharged to maintain the law and order situation, which resulted in women and children getting hurt.
However, West Bengal minister Firhad Hakim dismissed the incident by tweaking one of Shahrukh Khan’s most famous dialogues “Badi-badi events mein chhoti-chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain” he said, literally mocking the people hurt in the incident.

Gambhir is right, such kind of celebration should not happen again. what’s the point by celebrating such victories if police can’t control the crowd. Due to the excitement of few idiots, ladies and childrens near them gets hurt. If any childrens got hurt then it’s very sad and it’s their idiotic parents who are responsible

Even the crowd had to bear the brunt of lathicharge to see their heroes excluding our King!!! so much that some idiots here are blaming the poor people for all this!!!
Also dear Losers @Queenshuk, @Vikram, @SweetFart.. if you have watched the post match presentation of the final, when Samir Kochar asked your King about the party, your King said ”The party is going to kickoff from Kolkata for our team and the people, then Delhi which is my Hometown and then culminate in Mumbai with all the friends, as you know i am an Indian and grew up here in Bangalore as this is a special place for me”..also Indicine has said that it was organized by our King..as usual this shows your GK is very low just like our dear @Queenshuk said that 90% of this were not aware who Gopinath Munde was!!! :D
As said by @Sachin11, hopefully our resident junks like @Queenshuk, @Romance Disaster, @sss did not bear the brunt of the WB Police at the stadium!!! :P

@sid_original LOL agreed. Srk should be ashamed of such inhuman thing by organising party when so many people were brutally attacked. Even he should have been lathicharged by the police till he would shout “Minnamma” :D. That would be a just punishment.
