Next film of Rising Stars in Bollywood: Which films will you watch?

The entire decade of 2000s only had three notable stars who managed to make their presence felt and those actors were Hrithik Roshan (2000), Shahid Kapoor (2003) and Ranbir Kapoor (2007). While Shahid hasn’t yet done justice to his immense talent – as far as box office results are concerned – stars who made their debut in the current decade have raced past him in less than 2-3 years in the industry.

Here’s a quick look at upcoming films of actors who made their debut after 2010 (listed below in order of release date, not preference).

Ranveer Singh (Befikre – 9 December 2016): For the first time, Aditya Chopra will be directing a film that does not feature Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. A fresh love story, filmed across Paris, Befikre releases in theatres two weeks before Aamir Khan’s Dangal. Will Adi deliver a film that’s as refreshing as DDLJ?

Aditya Roy Kapur (Ok Jaanu – 13 January 2017): The last couple of years have been disastrous for Aditya Roy Kapur, but his best bet is the remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film ‘Ok Kanmani’, which has been titled ‘Ok Jaanu’ in Hindi. It marks the reunion of the popular ‘Aashiqui 2’ pair of Aditya and Shraddha. Shaad Ali, who previously directed the remake of ‘Saathiya’, directs this Dharma production.

Sushant Singh Rajput (Raabta – 10 February 2017): The success of ’MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ has given a huge boost to Sushant’s career. His performance in the film has been unanimously praised as one of the best of 2016. He returns next year, during the Valentine’s Day weekend, with Raabta. Producer Dinesh Vijan, who has produced films like Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal and Badlapur, makes his directorial debut. The film also stars Kriti Sanon in the lead.

Varun Dhawan (Badrinath Ki Dulhania – 10 March 2017): Varun and Alia reunite for the second film in the ‘Dulhania’ series, once again directed by Shashank Khaitan. The first film ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ did well enough to earn 80 crore at the box office, the second film will be bigger and should appeal to a wider section of the audience. We quite liked the ‘mela’ setting which was shown in the motion poster and the way Alia and Varun were styled.

Arjun Kapoor (Half Girlfriend – 19 May 2017): Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Mohit Suri, Chetan Bhagat – the names associated with the film are big. Mohit’s films almost always have good music and films based on Bhagat’s novels have performed very well at the box office too. Arjun and Shraddha have never been paired together before, so the lead pair is fresh. Half Girlfriend looks like a big winner on paper, but will the film (read content) live upto expectations?

Tiger Shroff (Michael Munna – 7 July 2017): Tiger delivered two back-to-back hits at the beginning of his career, before ‘A Flying Jatt’ tanked at the box office. He returns to work under the director – Sabbir Khan – who gave him his two successful films ‘Heropanti’ and ‘Baaghi’. Titled ‘Michael Munna’, the film is a ‘action-dance-musical’ tribute to the iconic Michael Jackson. Tiger will be doing what he does best – dance, show off his abs and do the kind of action that only he can! Since it’s his 4th film, we expect him to improve in the acting and the dialogue delivery department too.

Ayushmann Khurana (Meri Pyaari Bindu – 2017): Ayushmann hasn’t had a release after the success of ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ last year. He returns with Meri Pyaari Bindu, a film that also marks the comeback of Parineeti Chopra – a talented actress returning after two debacles in ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ and ‘Kill Dil’. Produced by Maneesh Sharma, the film has been directed by Akshay Roy.

Sidharth Malhotra (Reloaded – 2017): ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ was a failure, but Sidharth has a big film lined up for release next year. Tentatively titled as ‘Reloaded’, the action film, also starring Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead, will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.

  • @indicine u should post a article regarding result of this poll.. Result will clearly show who is the boss wait.. badrinath is already ruling like a boss here.

  • But @Salman khan king…

What does Eemran have to do with Bhatt and Indicine?? Better you say Ajay Devgn with indicine well known fact but not Eemran,I guess he does not have a movie scheduled for release next year that’s why.

  • For me movie wise :

    1) Badrinath Ki Dulhania
    2) Half Girlfiend
    3) Munna Michael

    My favorties among youngsters :

    1) Varun
    2) Tiger
    3) Ayushmann Khurana

    Critic acclaim:

    1) Meri Pyari Bindu
    2) Rabtaa
    3) Half Girlfriend / Badrinath ki Dulhania

All the best to all the lads !!!!!!!! I guess Ranveer is no longer in this league after BRM success. He has moved up a level and currently along Ranbir.

  • Varun is in the lead now
but a sequal creats high expectation and if it doen’t attain its a flop.
Ok Jaanu and Michael Munna can surprise..after the trailer.
These young generation actors take less fees and its help in good control budget.
When producers trust more in actors like Ranbir did with Bombay valet.
Its not just a loss for Producer but also a remark on actors carrier.
Varun plays very safly he takes second lead rols as he did with Dilwale
and also shines as main with Dishoom.

  • I like varun though and he has good future but he is never going to be as big as salman. There was, there is and there will be only salman khan.

  • my vote for befikre ….its looking something refreshing in content it will not about kisses just waiting for its trailer. Ranveer & sushant are best performers among all this. but varun emerging winner here. varun need to do work in acting & script selection. if he improves his acting he will be in big league. so future superstars are acc to till now are.
    Ranbir
    Ranveer
    Sushant
    Varun

  • according to current scenario among newcomer..
    Sushant going aamir way
    ranveer going srk way
    varun going salman way
    and…
Ranbir kapoor going ajay devgan way as both are immensely talented artist and acts with their expressions & eyes. rk will also get national award someday like ad.

  • Ranveer 187 cr ( BM ) + 116,33 cr ( ram leela ) = 303,33 cr
    Ranbir 188 cr ( YGHD ) + 112,15cr ( Barfi ) =300,15 cr
    Varun Dhawan 148,72 cr ( Dilwale -SRK) + 105,74cr = 254,46 cr
    Sidhart Malhotra 105,62cr ( Ek villain )
    Arjun Kapoor 102.13 cr ( 2 state )
Now who is the BIGGEST STAR among young GENERATION?? Post plz indicine don’t ignoreeeeeeeeeeeee thanks!!

  • Varun is winning bcz it’s a sequel of ” humpty Sharma ki Dulhania” and this movie was a hit – grossed 76 cr . Most of people don’t voting for Befikre bcz of the kissing posters .. But wait for Trailer plz . Trailer will out on 10 October .. ” Only 5 days to go Befikre trailer “..
ADITYA Chopra- I believe him .. This movie is his gift for his father- Yash Chopra . And he will release it on his doughters ” Bday ” day – ( Adira was born on 9 December ) it’s a very special movie for him.. Script of movie should be very good too .
