Fans of Shahrukh Khan are a disappointed lot. The countdown to Independence Day had already begun. There weren’t any reports in the media of ‘FAN’ facing delays either (even though internally there were murmurs within the industry yesterday). Just then comes a tweet from Karan Johar that FAN has been postponed and it would be ‘Brothers’ arriving on Independence Day instead. Suddenly, the next Shahrukh Khan film doesn’t even have a date – whether it’s Fan, Raees or Rohit Shetty film!
But now that the Maneesh Sharma film has been postponed, the big question is what’s the next best release date?
The date of release is important because there are reports that SRK and Rohit Shetty are planning to release their next film during Christmas this year. Now, if that film is coming in December, FAN has to release before October or after March 2016 – there has to be a gap of atleast 3-4 months between two SRK films.
Late September: There are only two films scheduled for release in the month of September – Shahid Kapoor’s Shandaar and Imran Khan’s Katti Batti. However, a September release is highly unlikely.
October 2nd: Singh Is Bling goes on floors in April and has been confirmed to release on Gandhi Jayanti. John Abraham’s Rocky Handsome is arriving on the same day too. But if YRF want this date, they would get it.
The rest of October falls under the ‘Pre-Diwali’ period, with just one film ‘MS Dhoni Biopic’ scheduled on October 22nd. Diwali has a big release in Salman Khan’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. Towards the end of November there is Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos.
If SRK – Rohit Shetty film isn’t complete by Christmas, then YRF could be looking at releasing FAN during that period. But reliable reports suggest that FAN isn’t commercial enough for a big festival release.
It’ll be interesting to see when YRF decide to release FAN. Almost all major release dates have been taken by big films. Will the film be pushed to 2016? If that’s the case, when will Raees release?

I think they have given akki a good date so they’ll probably snatch 2nd oct. for FAN.
But since as ur sources are saying,it isnt much commercial,then they should look for a late september release..
i hope dat d content will be gud so dat films dont depend on d festive dates…although its imp to hv a festive date to beef up d collections..

The best date for FAN is October 2nd. I don’t want it to release on Christmas because that date is the best for an out and out commercial family entertainer with action, romance and comedy.
October 2nd would be great.. but if that doesn’t happen then March or May 2016. I want Raees for Eid too next year :D

September release looks like the most appropriate release for the movie.Since it isn’t a Masala movie it doesn’t need a huge festive release.
The saddest part for us would be if Srk have just one release in 2015.Hope it isn’t the case
Sad that Fan wont release on 14th August.. I hope it releases this year.. Just have a feeling it might release on Christmas.. dont think Rohit Shetty film will be completed by then.

Even a non holiday release with 2+ open weeks would be fine. It was only going to get one holiday (independence day) if it released on 14th august so a non holiday release would only give a loss of 10cr or so.
No matter on which day it is released, it can’t more than the sale of a Table Fan!! Note this down!

Indicine what do you mean by yrf will get 2nd Oct on that 2 big films are releasing SIB And Rocky handsome akki is releasing his film brother on 14 aug earlier 31st july On 2nd oct sib mean 1.5 month gap and he has to release Airlift b/w Sib and housefull 3 than how could it be posible.
And change yor name to srk news from indicine this will suit this site most ..there are many news of other actors like sallu amir akki rk etc so post them also..There is big world outside srk…

Today really has been an interesting day . HNY getting 5000 screens in China, Sholay getting a release in Pakistan, Fan getting postponed, Brothers releasing on 14th August, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni giving birth to a Baby Girl in Gurgaon and also My Birthday . As for the above article now Fan getting postponed the things have become quite interesting . BB will release on Eid, PRDP will release on Diwali . As for Christmas there are 3 contenders – Tamasha, Bajirao Mastaani and SRK – Rohit Shetty’s next . I don’t think BM can release on Christmas because it is a SLB film and it will take time . If clash happens BM will be hugely affected . Tamasha can release on Christmas but because of Jagga Jassos being postponed to 27th November one month gap between two Ranbir films will be very less . As for SRK – Rohit Shetty’s next the shooting has not been started and the cast is not announced . I think SRK will like this movie on Christmas because this movie will be more commercial and Rohit Shetty has a brilliant track record . His last failure was Sunday way back in 2006 . This time SRK is not getting Diwali so he will try to capture Christmas . This will be interesting year because many movies have been postponed or preponed which makes this year much more exciting and intriguing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its just a film of A list superstars and release dates going to change multiple times, BTW fan is not looking a out and out commercial film so a Independence weekend wasnt much important for this.
I hope srk-rohit release on Christmas as at least many got their doubts clear on that time,srk-cine too.

As I think drishyam remake will bag this date 31th July (less chance bcoz 2 open weeks is very less period for bajrangi bhaijaan) maximum chance is ajay drishyam remake will definitely release on 7th August…
Main thing is drishyam is small budget film around 20 cr which means 1 week is enough for such film…
