Neerja had a fantastic first week in India and has continued its phenomenal run into its second week at the box office. The film has been declared tax free in a few states, including Maharastra, UP, Delhi and Gujarat.
The Sonam Kapoor starrer has already collected Rs 39 crore in 8 days and should get close to the 50 crore mark by the end of its 2nd weekend. The India vs Pakistan T20 cricket match has hit business at multiplexes, where the occupancy for the late evening / night shows was at around the same level as yesterday.
The film is now looking at lifetime business of 60 crore plus and could go on to be a much bigger grosser.

ak in this century became a megastar only after starting to focus on one film for more than a year & releasing one film every year or even less than that. Same is the case with salman khan who when started to release only two films per year became king of blockbusters. And for srk,since 2001 srk in main lead started to release two films per year. But in 90s both srk & salman were superstars. If salman started releasing two films per year from 2000 onwards it would have been great. No problem. Salman is making up for that now. So consistent king is srk (slight credit to yash raj & karan johar),content king is ak(a little credit to raju hirani),& king of blockbuster is salman khan(credit to ak for supporting salman).
Now a days the perception of Indian audience are changing.
People are watching movies based on word of mouth instead of star cast
