In what would mean more disappointment for Shahrukh Khan fans, My Name Is Khan according to reliable sources has been further postponed.
The film starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in the lead was initially set to release in November this year, but had to be postponed due to Shahrukh Khan’s shoulder surgery. Then came the IPL and SRK was busy with his Kolkata Knight Riders, it was only after he returned from South Africa that he started shooting for My Name Is Khan again.
According to a reliable boxoffice website, the last schedule of shoot in New York is currently in progress after which the movie will be 80% complete. Portions of the Karan Johar directed film that will be shot in India, remain incomplete and is expected to be completed by October this year.
The expected release date of My Name Is Khan has now been pushed from February 2010 to April 2010.
Oh, I don’t know what to say. It is very sad that Shahrukh has no release in this year. If MNIK is being released in April means we have to wait to see shahrukh in screen for more than a year.
But in a way this is good news for me personally. Because my internship will be over by somewhere close to April next year. During the period July 2008 to April/May 2009 I’ll be doing my intern and during that period I do not think I’ll be able to watch movies. So this is good for me. I can watch the movie on screen if they release after April :)
I already heard this news.. means that we won’t see Shahrukh in any movie, not even in some t.v. shows only after 8 or 9 months!
I wish if Shahrukh would agree to do sometimes small budget movies too.. which won’t take that long time for shooting.. he could select some good scripts, good directors, not necessary yash raj or karan johar’s big production.. we just love to see him at least twice in a year in movies.. one movie in a year for a celebrity like him is very less.. we don’t accept it.. we want to see him often.
Shahrukh’s presence in any movie will give it a value, even if he showsup as a guest appearance.
Indicine Team: What about Sushmita Sin’s movie (Dulha Mel Gaya)? Shahrukh is a guest appearance but the movie is not released yet!
That is too bad. it means it will be even longer until I get to see it, as I live in the U.S. and have to wait for video.
I’m really looking forward to seeing him with Kajol again, and in another Karan Johar film (I’m a big fan of all three: SRK, Kajol, Karan) I hope the wait is worth it.
However, I feel even worse that SRK has to endure yet another surgery. He needs to be kinder to his body!
Fathiya, Dulha Mil Gaya is releasing on 18th September. Dont have high hope from this, its been in the making for more than 2 years and its a special appearance by Shahrukh just like Billu.
Indicine Team: Thanks of yr reply, even if Shahurkh will show up for 5 minutes in any movie.. it’s ok, we, as his fans, would love to see him even for minutes in any movie, but not to disapear for a year!!
A question: what I noticed is that any movie in bollywood which took a bit long time to release, it flops!! why?! I remember that I read about LS2050 that took the director 5 years to do the movie.. if there’re some circumstances for any movie to be delayed.. I don’t think that the “period” of time would affect the quality of any movie.. if the movie was done properly, if it was a good direction and production with good cast & performance, so the time has nothing to do with it, few years delayed would never affect any good movie except for some (old) very old movies which shot long time ago ( like 10 years) then resumed again.. which you’d notice the difference in the hero/heroine’s look.
Dulha Mil Gaya in the making for 2 years.. so what?! that’s a very short of time.. if Sushmita’s movie is good, the time doesn’t matter at all… now they’re delaying 2 big movies ( My Name is Khan) as well as Kites for some reasons, and I don’t think that the movies would flop because of the time.
