The makers of ‘MSG – The Messenger’ have officially announced the first 4 day collections of their film as Rs 61.15 crore at the domestic box office. In a statement, the producers of the film claim that the film is already a blockbuster.
As per trade estimates though, the film has collected around Rs 10.5 – 11 crore net in 5 days. The makers of the film had tie-ups with PVR and quite a few shows were block-booked for devotees and followers of Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan. A few shows were marked as ‘sold out’ (i.e the normal audience couldn’t buy tickets) but the screening only had about 20-30 people watching the film.
There are also reports that the sequel of film will be released soon.

It’s funny when I find people comparing K3 case with Msg case!
The figure of 244 crores of K3 was supported many trade pandits including Taran Adarsh,Komal Nehta,Amod Mehra etc. Becoz it was BOI who shamelessly underreported the collection. Funny thing is that in BOI figure, K3 did only 4 crores after week 2. Lol. If D3 can do 284 crores with similar WOM to K3, Why cann’t K3 do 244 crores. 176 crores look too low.
As for MSG case, we cann’t trust the producer figure. Anyone can say that a crap and not so popular movie like MSG cann’t do more than 60 crores in just 4 day! What if the producers of Sharafat Gayi Tel Lane claims their film to be an ATBB? Will u except that?

@nipun 176 crore is correct figure. Krrish 3 was never as popular as Chennai Express or Dhoom3 or even Kick. Krrish never had the WOM to cross even 200 crore. Krrish 3 got average response from both critics and audience.
Rakesh Roshan was afraid that Krrish 3 could not beat YJHD and that would affect Hrithik’s market image. People would think Ranbir is bigger than him, so the manipulation was done.
The truth is that YJHD’s nett is higher than Krrish 3.

Other than music, each and every factor(promotions,screen count,occupancy,reviews,buzz) were favouring K3. 176 crores is Too low. Only BRAINLESS PEOPLE will agree with the figures of 176 crores.
Acc to Boi, k3 did 90 crores less than D3 even though both are popular franchise! ! Lol.
If D3 can do 36 crores on day 1, k3 also can do 25.5 crores.
@nipun What dumb logic you are using. Do you even know what popular means? CE, D3 and Kick are highly popular among public. Krrish 3 is not that popular. In fact YJHD had more popular songs, and more public knowledge than Krrish 3. People decide to watch a movie when it has well picturised songs and looks attractive. Krrish 3 didnt have it. Even the VFX and action scenes were very poor. Noone i knew was interested to watch it.
The truth that I stated is the most possible explaination why the Roshans manipulated the Krrish 3 collections, they were ashamed to admit that their Hrithik’s franchise film failed to beat Ranbir’s YJHD. To save their market image, they increased the collections.
Ra.one had much better VFX and action than Krrish 3. The car chase, train scene was exhilarating and world class.
In comparison the plane scene in Krrish 3 was extremely cheesy and cartoonish. The fight scene between Krrish and manvars was absolutely shameworthy.

Okay, Raone had better VFX quality than K3 as it had higher budget,but Ra1 was scriptless and the fighting scenes were looking like any scenes of video-game! Public watch a superhero film for the action and fighting scene. The climax, the fighting scene near Rohit’s house and the one with striker made the film engaging. It had also a story.
Everything doesn’t depend upon songs. If that’s the case, Alone and Khamoshiyan would have been blockbuster.
Krrish 3 had “HYPE” as a part of popular franchise! K3 was in news since 2011. How can people not call it popular?
If the response/WOM was average, K3 would never have recorded highest single day collection of all time in its 4th day of release. So people apply some sense.
Someone is saying that Roshans were ashamed of not beating YJHD’s collection and that’s why they manipulated! Lol. Why should they target YJHD only? ? Even acc to BOI, K3’s domestic Net figure is 188 crs including telugu,tamil.
If producers of indian films are manipulating their box office earnings…why industry is not taking stand against those producers..and as you have to pay some percentage of the gross to government…will the producers of this film pay the taxes according to this 61.15 crore figure? I don’t think so.

wht a big hypocrite fan boy this nipun is, projecting bakwas krrish 3 manupulative figures as correct one, fyi every1 in trade knows what krrish actual nos. r and the people you r quoting r always favour big stars and producers, they dont have guts to go against them, never seen dodgy people like taran, komal, go against these big banners. here we know that nos portrays by msg producers not correct but yard stick should be same for every 1 small or big. aamir khan and vidhu chopra clearly indicates in so many of there talks during pk promotions that how their fellow producers indicates and inflate nos. to save their false brand image, hats off to AK and vidhu for projecting this issue in public to show how worst these roshans and other who inflate wrong nos. for their movs. PK is the only mov which has same figures almost at all sources.
