Mohit plays cop in Gajini

Mohit has been signed to play the pivotal role of a cop in the much-discussed Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Gajini. Amir replaces Surya while Asin reprises her role. Mohit has finally moved on from an extended hibernation since his split with Ram Gopal Varma.

After Mohit Ahlawat’s unceremonious parting of ways with Ram Gopal Varma, there has been a big question about the actor’s future. However, now Mohit has finally made his move after months of hibernation – without his benefactor. And it’s a big stride forward as he has signed a new film, the much-discussed Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Gajini with Aamir Khan.

The original stars the Southern superstar Surya with Asin. While Asin reprises her role from the original in Hindi, Aamir will play Surya’s role.

Mohit has been signed to play the pivotal role of a cop. Ironically, he played a law enforcer in Ramu’s Shiva, the film that saw the end of his association with Varma’s company.

Mohit confirms this new development in his career, “Yes, I’ve been signed for the Hindi remake of Gajini. It will be directed by A R Murgadoss, who directed the original Tamil film. For me, the biggest thrill of doing this film is that I’ll be working with Aamir.”

Feeling jubilant about the end of the dry spell in his career, Mohit says, “I could have signed a dozen films after I left Ramuji. But I didn’t want to make any wrong moves. Now I think I’m making all the right moves.”
