While Salman awaits the release of his upcoming film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, the superstar has said that he doesn’t believe in the constitution of marriage and that the concept of ‘happily ever after’ doesn’t work in today’s times.
Salman’s statement contradicts his director Sooraj Barjatya’s firm belief in Indian values and arranges marriages.
“Marriages are not for lifetime now. Time has changed. It is about ‘temporary shaadi’ now” Salman said.
Earlier, Salman had said that he is open to arranged marriage, but added that no one has sent him a proposal yet.
“Nobody has sent me a proposal! If somebody does send me one, I will seriously consider it. I am open to arranged marriage. Sometimes, love marriages don’t work and arranged marriages do. And sometimes, it’s the other way around. It depends on the individuals, how they go about their lives, how compatible they are.”
