Barely 5 days after its worldwide theatrical release, Main Aur Mrs Khanna starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan will be available via pay-per-view on the three major DTH service providers Tata Sky, Dish TV and Reliance’s Big TV from October 20th 2009.
According to the makers there are several benefits of premiering a movie days afters its release via DTH pay-per-views. Firstly, it kills piracy to a certain extent, also an increasing numbers of DTH subscribers find the convenience of watching movies in the comforts of their homes, an overall better experience.
With Main Aur Mrs Khanna opening to a terrible response at the box office, the makers would be hoping for a much better response with a DTH premiere in the first week of its release.
Could this move affect the box office collections of the film? Would hardly matter we think, since the movie has crashed further on Tuesday.
