Main Aur Mrs Khanna – A box office disaster!

As the saying goes “The fate of every actor changes with every passing Friday.” and Salman Khan on Cloud Nine after the blockbuster business of his last release, has come crashing down to earth.

Main Aur Mrs Khanna was expected to open to a decent response at the box office, especially with Salman Khan hitting the bullseye with Wanted. Unfortunately, the movie hasn’t even managed a face saving opening at the ticket window.

The 4 day weekend total (5.75 crores) is lesser than the business of Wanted on its first Monday (single day). Gives a pretty clear idea of how badly the movie has fared at the box office, doesn’t it?

The DTH premiere could further dent its collections and the movie should struggle to touch 10 crores in Week 1 and this for a movie starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor is disastrous.

All eyes on London Dreams now, which suddenly seems quite risky! What do you think? Comments below

  • well…….. main aur mrs khana is a flop evry 1 knows thattttttttt….bcoz salman plays romantoc husband……but he is good in comedies and action…thats y wanted became a hit…..nd in london dreams also…..he is cracking sme jokes….so fingers r crossed….nd most importantly….natiinal award winin actor…ajay is also in it….so it wil b hit ….their chemistry is luking good in promossssss…..

  • Indicine Team: I still didn’t watch it but I’ve a plan to do it on Saturday.. is the movie that bad that it didn’t work or the fault relies on the audience’s taste..

If the fault is “the audience” and the movie is good and doesn’t lack anything, then Salman Khan should not waste his time and effort.. he’s to do 10 movies every year similar to “Wanted” and believe me.. each of his movies will do more than Ghajini.. maybe 300crores every year!

  • Its realy sad…audience have no idea about good movie(mamk) & i think london dreams will be flop because good movies are not for audience. Audience like bogus movie(blue).

  • plsssssssss watch main aur mrs khanna…..its realy a nice movie…….mamak better then blue & all the best…..

  • MAMK is surely a disaster! Indicine Team I think u have mentioned Wanted as blockbuster but actually its box office collections are just average, Wanted did superb business in single screens, but if u consider its Multiplexes business it had very poor collections and in overseas market it was disaster like MNMK.

People say Salman is Superstar I use to feel the same way but looking at his track record from 2005 Except No Entry and Partner all his films were box office duds Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya did pretty well but was not hit. The list of flops(Lucky,Saawan: The Love Season,Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar,Marigold: An Adventure in India, Kyonki, Jaaneman,Babul, Salaam e Ishq, Sawariya, yuvraj, god tussi great ho, heroes, ) I am not mentioning Hello as he did special appearence and now MAMK its obvious sallu is losing his credential as superstar. This is the reason (so many flops) why wanted also could not managed good opening it picked up on eid and sunday.

So all his fans like me pray for him that he does lesser films with quality work so that his film works, I think if Veer his forthcomong film will have good publicity it will b definetly a success and he sould not do films like wanted which are just third grade quality and one more note the time of release of MAMK was wrong if it would have been released on valentine day or on some different ocasion then it would have been a success.

  • Main aur mrs. khana ia an excellent movie with a really great music. Its really sad that a pathetic movie like wanted is a hit while such a decent family movie is a flop. Now people has got a very bad taste.

  • Ajju :
i think london dreams will be hit coz Vipul shah has 100 % record but it is with akki now tels see how will with sallu and ajay. 2nd thing Ajay is back in form last yr Sunday avg and Golmal returns hit and now all the best is also good so ajay’s last three releases gor success so may be both of these people ( Vipul and Ajay ) will give him a good break and dont forget Asin (who did Ghajini and got new face of the ur award aswell ) .
so i m hopefull for Sallu Uncle
Veer cant be hit coz poeple dont like historical movies ( eccept Jodha Akbar ) and its budgest is also very high like Blue .

  • Hello u guys…Salman’s fan r ryt here, infact they r visible everywhere, u can c dem around u too..MAMK dint work cuz its a crap movie…if it has worked a bit its all due to Salman…@ Ahsana…aint u aware of craze of nebody need to say dat..@ Ajju- u counted very less hits of salman after 2005..but did u c ne fall in da popularity of Salman..rather it has increased, Salman’s stardom has nothing to do with hit n flop, n dis is wid very few actors……. London Dreams will b a hit..dats a challenge…neone wanna tk dis challenge???????????????????????

  • i dunna yy ppl are considering the movies that he did as cameos as flops….see so much is expected out of him…ane ways i think he shud not do any romantic movies but do action and comedy movies which he is very good at….and one more thing salman don’t ruin ur reputation acting wid ur broder…..

  • i think he shouldnt do movies wid his brothers sohil /arbaz dey jst make his movies messy…he is a gud actor bt wid d movies wid his brothers he jst makes dem do a flop business..
d ppl dont cam 2 d theaters aft dey c sohil/arbaaz in d promo dey r disaster in d movies unlucky charm as actors..
bt as a producer sohil is gud so i think salman should only work wid his brothers if dey dont act in d movies…

  • after wanted and mamk salman khan is back with london dreamzzzzzzzzz
the movie is going to be a biggest blockbaster of the year everyone should watch the movie bcoz thier love story, aim , friendship and ajay devgan and salman khan is back eith london dreamz
and also aseen the upcoming suparstar

  • Ajju…you have listed out flop movies of Salman but how about the list of hit movies? Considering he doesn’t have filmmakers pals like K Jo, Farah khan who make films just for a particular person? And if ou have only one release per year atleast the fans going to watch it and the movies will definetly be an average ifnot a blockbluster.. Salman has worked with lesser known directors, newcomers without any ego and inhibitions and he doesn’t owe his success to any big, famed film productions like Yashraj etc.. What was Sanjay Leela Bhansali before Khamoshi anad Hum dil de chuke sanam? Khamoshi was a beautiful movie but flopped…. After Sanjay Leela Bhansali was successful he did not cast Salman Khan to whom he owes what he is today… My Salman can sustain without any of the PR bandwagon….buddy filmmakers…big production houses… He maynot be the best actor..but he is surely ONE SUPERSTAR…A HUMAN WITH A REAL HEART!!!!The hit movies of Salman Hum dil de chuke sanam, Har dil jo pyaar karega, Jab pyaar kisise hota hain, Bandhan, Pyaar kiya to darna kya, Judwaa, Karan arjun, Andaz apna apna, Hum apke hain kaun, Hum saath saath hain, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke.

All the best Salman. My prayers are for you and only you. May God bless you.

  • mamk is nice movie… but it doesn’t work nice as expected because people has make their mind that salman suits in action and commedy only… but this is not so… inshallah london dreams will be a block buster…

  • london dreams will be the biggest hit of 2009……………………..
    sallu u rocks……………………………………………………….
