‘Lingaa’ distributors to beg outside Rajnikanth’s house on Tuesday

The distributors and exhibitors of ’Lingaa’, who have been demanding compensation for the losses they suffered over Rajnikanth’s much-hyped flop, have decided to beg outside the superstar’s residence on Tuesday.

Apparently, producer Rockline Venkatesh, had promised that ‘Lingaa’ would do better business than Rajnikanth’s ‘Enthiran’, but the film went on to be Rajnikanth’s biggest disaster in recent times.

“Last month it was decided we will be compensated after extensive accounting of the losses. And for this, Rajnikanth sir had appointed his friend and distributor Tirupur Subramaniam, who ascertained the quantum loss suffered by us. However, the producer is unwilling to pay Rs 35 crore” distributor Singaravadivelan told reporters.

The distributor also added that Rockline Venkatesh earned huge money over the film as he sold the rights to Eros International for Rs 100 crore. However, Venkatesh has decided not to refund the money to distributors and theatre owners.

“The amount we claim as refund is far less than the salary paid to Rajnikanth. If Eros had paid so much to buy the film, we don’t understand why it is difficult for producer Venkatesh to refund us when he had promised us that the film will do better business than ‘Enthiran'” he said.

“They’ve made us beg for the refund. And we will do it as we’ve run out of options. We will beg right outside Rajinikanth’s house on Tuesday” he added.

‘Lingaa’ released in theatres on 12th December 2014, which also happened to Rajnikanth’s 64th birthday.

  • This news is really shocking for me . I heard that Lingaa was getting good reviews . I think the producers were stupid who overestimated Lingaa and also the distributors were wrong because they expected too much from Lingaa . I hope this problem is solved as soon as possible . I hope Rajnikanth does something for the distributors by convincing the Producers or he should give that money himself as he is also responsible for the movie’s under performance . Rajnikanth is considered a Demi God in Tamil Nadu . Tomorrow is Mahashivratri and i hope Mahadev will do everything good . This is the first time i am reading such kind of news .

  • Distributors need to be prepared for facing losses. They have earned so much money from some of Rajni’s previous movies. They cant expect Rajni to compensate their losses each time his films flop.He had helped the distributors after baba flopped but expecting him to refund on each occasion is unreasonable

  • @Indicne lingaa isn’t a disaster by any means. It is highest grosser of 2014 worldwide. The expectations were sky high which is the reason the film is an underperformer. Also it is the distributors who need to be blamed for paying such high prices.Considering the prices the film needed to be an all time blockbuster for the distributors to be on the safe side

  • Eros should take inspiration now …….. They should do kejrowal type Dharna outside boney kapoor house for Tevar ……..!! ….
Similarly reliance for Besharam …. Hahahahj …!! ..

Heard some reliance xhibitors commited suicide after besharam ……..!! . …

Also feel sad for aurangzeb , fanny , tevar , beshraram , roy , …sawariya ,, anajani anjana .. Kill dil ,, lutera ,, ladies ricxky ….. Rocket singh ,, bachna hasino exhibitors ……..

  • That is both hilarious and sympathetic. Rajnikanth sir is humble and generous and will definitely help them.
However during release of MNIK, Ra.one, HNY also distributors lost a lot of money but they didnt go to ask Srk. Bcoz they know he is greedy.
But also this is due to Srk’s fans. Every time they flood articles with
“Charlie is coming with 300 cr in India and $30 million in overseas”
Reading such comments distributers get overexcited and pay huge amount to the producers, and later suffer huge losses.
Sarook fans should post comments like
“Charlie is coming to chase Ready’s 125 cr and $12 million overseas”.
That will reduce the losses of distributers.

  • These people should not beg. They should go to our king Sarook. He will tell them the tales and tragedies that his own exhibitors suffered during Ra.One and MNIK. That will help cheer up the poor Lingaa distributors and give them hope.

  • every 1 has limit … SALMAN alaways say
“1 day there will be other guy in my place bettr looking bigger fan following…im ready for that day so i dnt let this stardom to my mind then rest life will nt be easy”
but srk says im the last star in india n all…. get up man…

  • and they said – rajni is bigger than srk salman.
    lol.
srk salman atleast make and out even for distributors due to their more powerful command than rajni.

  • @akinkya, stop barking on Kejriwal otherwise u wil get some Kadwa truth regarding the Feku and Joker.

  • power of rajni sir?fussssss!!!!! And they said KING KHAN got success in RA ONE,CE.whoever said that now this is a strong slap on their face,ROFL.

Linga becomes another jai ho/talash.distributors of jai ho also beg salman/sohail to compensate but salman gave those money to boi to change the verdict to semi hit while it was a disaster ,also boi don’t need to verdict on amir as it was his own site, lol.but see whether MNIK/RA ONE is clean hit that verdict by KING KHAN’S enemy boi,so haters are crying it as flop, but WE are enjoying by watching it,lol.

  • Our hyderabadi engineering genius complan boy thinks distributors losing money over Ratoon Point One and MNIK is no big deal as movie was farcically declared a hit so no big deal… Afterall our king is consistent like Virat Kohli in delivering hits n hitting centuries whereas ATBBs or double centuries are reserved for the Rohit Sharmas and Aamir Khans of this world. Kings fans are happy with hit films but we fans are ecstatic watching ATBB movies every christmas…!

  • King biult a ramp outside his house to keep the distributors of MNIK n Ratoon away but the destruction of the ramp will mean desperate distributors can now get close enough to king to beg for a refund for heavy losses they suffered ?????????

  • Nice to see some people whose life is revolving around a man known as srk. Thanks for giving importance to him in your life than your family and friends.keep it up.

  • Navin the old retired richshawala grandpa but still losses the distributors faced because of bhai’s flops like jai Ho and veer is much more heavy and before 2010 u know bhai was curse for distributors and producers. Lol

  • lingaa was the worst film when i saw it… long boring and familiar antics have lost appeal with viewers

ive never liked south indian films and its good the film flopped otherwise our northindian heroes might have remaked it in hindi
