Ekta Kapoor’s marketing brilliance made ‘The Dirty Picture’ one of the biggest blockbusters of 2011. Now with the much-awaited Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, she was keen on selling it for an even higher price.
Says a noted trade analyst “There is definite curiosity around the film for various reasons – it’s a comedy, the original was a hit, Tusshar (Kapoor) and Ritesh (Deshmukh) are tested brands in the youth comic space, and above all, the Balaji factor.”
The all-India distribution rights of Kya Super Kool Hai Hum has been sold for 21.6 cr to a Nagpur based distributor, who is believed to have recently acquired biggies like Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore and Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan. The music and satellite rights too have been sold before release.
The film, the second part in the Kya Kool Hai Hum series, is scheduled for theatrical release on August 2nd 2012.
