In just 6 days since its theatrical release, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 needs just Rs 2.52 crore to go past the lifetime collections of Salman Khan’s Christmas blockbuster Dabangg 2.

Some factors that worked in favour or went against the two films.
- Both Krrish 3 and Dabangg 2 were sequels to tremendously successful films. Like Salman’s Chulbul Pandey, Krrish and Rohit Mehra were hugely popular with audiences across all age groups.
- D2’s music was popular with the masses especially Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Fevicol Se’. Rajesh Roshan’s outdated compositions were universally thrashed.
- While Hrithik commands a larger audience / fan base in urban cities, Salman is huge with the masses. Surprisingly though, Dabangg 2 under-performed at smaller centres and Krrish 3 hasn’t sustained too well in major metro cities!
- Business of Dabangg 2 in the North Indian circuits was affected due to severe cold. The dill pre-Diwali phase meant that the first weekend business of Krrish 3 was slightly below trade expectations (at least the exhibitors weren’t too happy in the first 3 days, all that changed on Monday though).

- Dabangg 2 – 3500 screens, Krrish 3 – 3700 screens (4050 including Tamil and Telugu)
- Hindi version weekend – Dabangg 2: 65 crore – Krrish 3: 63.7 crore
- Weekend including all versions – Dabangg 2: 65 crore – Krrish 3: 72.7 crore
- First week – Dabangg 2: 106.5 crore – Krrish 3: 165 crore expected (in 6 days 152.98 cr)

All other sites shows 167 cr and if we deduct 25-30% entertainment tax that figure become nearly equal to the figure shown by boi i.e nearly 130 cr for all versions. lol
I Like Salman But Not Dabbang 2, Bcz It Was Remake Of Dabbang 1, The Huge Business That It Did Was All Because Of The Super Stardom Of Salman… Coming To Krrish 3. I Think It Is Unfair To Compare Krrish 3 With Dabbang2, You Should Have Sticked With Krrish Versus Chennai Express Or Krrish3 Versus 3 Idiots Bcz Thats What Krrish 3 Is Running After….
My Personal Opinion is Krrish 3 Will Definately Break The Domestic Collection Of Chennai Express if There Is No Massive Fall In The Second Weekend But The Biggest Bollywood Hit Or Grosser Tag Will Still Stay With Chennai Express.
Reason The Mammoth Collection That Chennai Express Did in Overseas Which Is Right Now Looking Impossible For Krrish3 To Beat. To Beat That Krrish 3 Has to Collect a Minimum 275Crores Net In India Which Is Highly Improbale And It Has Also Required To Collect Atleast 70 Crores in Overseas. My Prediction Krrish 3 Will Collect 240crores Nett In India And Something Around 60-70 Crores In Overseas.. If It Does Then Grand Salute To Them

tamil n telugu were barely 400 screens, ppl r mekin a big deal of it !! if a producer didn’t release his or her film in tamil or telugu , den its their mistek !! domestic collections mean all india collection wich inclucdes tamil n telugu too. K3 is faaaar bttr dan ce , so it deserves all records, ce was released in mch more screens overseas, so definitely it vl hav more collection der, plus srk has a vry gud track record in overseas, hrithik vl reach at top in overseas soon in comin yrs.

i am reading your comments since the release of k3…it seems you are confused with south indian collections……..other movies also release in south india but in hindi language only(RA 1 and don 2 released in telugu and tamil also)…….but in case of K3 it released in dubbed version.now people are asking for only hindi versions in india,and says dont add other langauge in it…although other also release in south but in HINDI only….i think now your point is clear
Dabangg 2 was a meaningless and worst sequel possible ever… totally FAZOL movie but fevicol was a good song although not great but if you like chikni chameli,munni,shela then you surely had liked it
Dabangg was just a pastime film ( for me for sure.. not for the other audience!) and part 2 was a crap film.. it was only Salman Khan’s star power and that’s the reason for it’s success, Ek Tha Tiger was hundred time a better film for Salman.
@sweet heart:yes,i know that.but my point is that the 227 crores is the domestic collection.but can only the hindi collection of k3 be called domestic collection? ?offcourse no. .if we compare domestic collection of two movies,then how can we ignore the telugu and tamil dubbed collection? ?it’s the producer fault to not released in dubbed version.
Also didnt ce and ett gain some collections(around 8 to 10 crs) from south though in hindi? ?
