No other Bollywood trailer has been viewed more than 9 million times, but the trailer of Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 is nearing 15 million views on popular video sharing website Youtube.
In fact, the ‘view count’ of the trailer is competing with mega-budget Hollywood blockbuster which have a much larger audience. The 2 minute long Krrish 3 theatrical trailer could eventually beat trailers of Hollywood superhero films like ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Thor’ – both of which released about 2 years ago and have about 19 million views.
The other Indian film trailers are simply no competition for this superhero film directed by Rakesh Roshan. The film also starring Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut, releases during the Diwali weekend in India.

@Summet…..I really don’t understand why everybody hates on Kites, its easily one of the best films of the decade, it was made for some audiences…paticulary the west, and was supposed to help indian films reach at a world platform. I love all hrithik films he makes the best films except for Mujhse Dosti karoge and main Prem Ki diwani hoon. You may not like Kites thats your opinion but dont give the film a bad title- it was a beautiful film.
Most of Hrithik films that flop are due to those films being way ahead of their time. For example
2000 – Fiza – at the time indian audiences didn’t except films that dealt with Muslim-Hindu conflicts, politics, and terrorism. Or films that had tragic endings.
2004 – Lakshaya – New style of filming have never worked the first time, it takes time.
2010 – Kites – Indian audiences cant deal with Hindi,English, and Spanish at the same time.
2010 – Guzaarish – Indian audiences want to go to the cinema to se the hero doing action, not the hero on a wheel chair the whole movie.
All these films have become major cult classics and all were critically accailmed, and these films are considered hrithiks best, and this films made hrithiks one of the most versatile actors in the industry.

MUMBAI: Composing music for the second installment of Bollywood’s first real super hero in the celluloid form of ‘Krrish 3’ was a challenge music directors Salim-Sulaiman were game to take on again. The brothers were roped in for Krrish 3 to work on the background score for the Rs 90 crore film (music has been helmed by Rajesh Roshan) after the grand success of its prequel ‘Krrish’ (2006) pulling in more than Rs 100 crores at the box office.
“The challenge we faced for Krrish 3 was to revisit its prequel and make the music bigger and better. This time we experimented much more for the music and made it grander,” Sulaiman told Radioandmusic.com.
“One had to be careful of how to fit the music for a superhero that is (obviously) larger than life and capture the essence of the characters and the euphoria of being a super hero,” he pointed out.
The Krrish series has no second part and its genesis in 2003’s ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’ which was directed by Roshan and his son Hrithik as the hero and the same continued with both the Krrish films.
The latest installment has a strong cast of Hrithik, Priyanka Chopra and Vivek Oberoi among others.
Although the brothers went back to the original Krrish as a reference point and to refresh them on the concept and get inspired for the background score for Krrish 2, they avoided being influenced by international heroes- Spiderman, Iron Man or the Avengers.
“We did not take reference or get an inspiration from the international superhero franchise. We had our own superhero in Krrish and in that sense we already had the template,” Sulaiman said.
The film has already generated a huge buzz in the market. Its trailer launched on 5 August raced to set a record with 13.5 million views on YouTube in 10 days. It also received 50,000 likes on the site which is the highest ever for any Indian film trailer.
With all the hype, many are predicting Krrish 3 may be the film to break Shah Rukh Khan’s runaway hit ‘Chennai Express’ (Rs 212 crores collected) which hasn’t lost steam.
Krrish 3 will be released in 3D with a bang on November 3 across 3,900-4,000 screens in India and some 1,000 screens overseas.
