Konkona not just work hard but also party’s hard and loud which brings cops to her doorstep. The thought of dancing with Madhuri in Aaja Nachle brings shivers down her spine. She is trying to over come her inhibition in lip-synching for two full songs for the movie Laga Chunri Mein Daag.
The permanent shift from Kolkata to Mumbai has done her a world of good. Konkona is turning into quite a party animal. Says Konkona, “I do party a lot, but mostly at home. I’ve friends over all the time. The other day we had a party till 8 in the morning. The cops came to stop the loud music. It was crazy!”
Mumbai is now home for the Omkara actress. She says, “All my friends in Kolkata have moved out. I’m now stationed in Mumbai but living in a rented place. The thought of buying a new place is daunting. But that isn’t stopping me from doing what I want?”
At work it’s going to be a scary summer for Konkona. First, having to dance with the nimble-footed Madhuri in Aaja Nachle. Now in June, Konkona will have to sing and dance to two songs. She says, “And I’m terrified! I did a little bit of lip-synching for Rituparno Ghosh’s Sunglass. But in Laga Chunri Mein Daag, I’ve two full songs. And I don’t know how I’ll manage. But I guess I’ll just have to let go off my inhibition.”
The world is speaking of her spontaneity. She says, “I’m very much conscious of the camera. But I’m comfortable with it? unless I’m doing something out of the ordinary like kissing or abusing? Then I’ve to make a special effort.”
Konkona has not signed any new film. She adds, “I’m not getting worried. I’ve completed Rituparno Ghosh’s Sunglass and almost comleted Pradeep Sarkar’s Laga Chunri Mein Daag. I’ve been shooting continuously since November. Now I’m a little lazy about reading scripts and committing myself to any new projects. I want to take some time off.”
Konkona is taking a holiday in July in France. She says, “I’ll go with a group of friends. I need a break. I’ve done 18 films in two years. Can you believe it?” So, will good friend Ranveer be part of the team? She says, “Nooo? it’s only female friends, thank you.”
Tell her Ranveer Shorey has shaped up into a watchable actor and she brightens up. She says, “Ranveer is supposed to be really good in Mithya? He’s also with me in Aaja Nachle along with Irrfan, Divya Dutta, Vinay Pathak, Raghuvir Yadav, Kunal Kapoor, Yashpal Sharma, Akhilendra Mishra and Sushmita Mukherjee. I’m crazy about my director Anil Mehta? He never loses his cool.”
