Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon Day 1 (Friday) Box Office Collections

Kapil Sharma’s debut film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ has exceeded all expectations on Day 1, as the film has collected around Rs 8 crore on its opening day at the box office.

The holiday for Bakrid has helped, but the opening still falls in the ‘excellent’ category as the opening is better than 90% of films released this year and is comparable to much bigger films like ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, ‘Phantom’ and even ‘Baby’. In fact, the opening is bigger than films like ‘Drishyam’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Piku’.

The popularity of Kapil Sharma worked big time on Friday, but the real test will come on Saturday and Sunday as the word-of-mouth will begin to positively or negatively impact business.

#IndicineFBO: We predicted Rs 4.5 crore as the opening day collections of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and our prediction was way off the mark. It’s possibly our worst prediction to date. Even though the promos and music didn’t quite work, we probably underestimated the fan-following that Kapil Sharma commands because of his stint on television. The late marketing push with major celebrities endorsing the film also helped.
