There is nothing quite like positive word-of-mouth publicity. This week’s release Kai Po Che, the best reviewed film of 2013 so far, has shown outstanding growth in business on Day 2, as the film collected Rs 5.25 crores (approx) on Saturday.
The two day collections of the Abhishek Kapoor directed film now stands at 8.75 – 9 crore in India. We expect the first weekend collections to be in the 15-16 crores range, which is massive for a film starring newcomers.
In comparison, a much bigger film like Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola with established stars, released on 1850 screens (1000 screens more than Kai Po Che), only managed to collect 12.75 crores in it’s first 2 days.
Overseas Collections: Kai Po Che has opened to good response in the overseas markets too, as the film has collected more than 2 crores from USA, UK and UAE.
