Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has officially confirmed to our good friends over at Catch News that the theatrical trailer of ‘Kaabil’ will be released during Diwali this year. The trailer could be attached to the prints of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil or Shivaay, both of which are scheduled to release during the festive weekend.
Earlier today, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Roshan had said that it’s superstition that isn’t allowing him to change the release of the Sanjay Gupta-directed Kaabil.
We were able to confirm from trade sources that Roshan has never changed the release dates of his films, once they were officially announced. Being a superstitious person – the title of all his home-productions also start with the alphabet ‘K’ – Roshan has decided to go ahead with the ‘Republic Day weekend’ release of the film.

I dont think releasing a theatrical trailer is a good plan to kick off the promotions before 3 months…They should release a teaser on diwali and then in around christmas they should kick off the campaign…But the reason Rakesh Roshan being a trade veteran and very well known about how it functions..he knows what better for the film than me at the end of day…So lets celebrate..

Those who are talking abt budgets should know that Kaabil will be around 55-60cr (incldng P+a) excluding HR’s fees (Satellite rights) and Raees will be around 85-90cr (including P+a) excluding SRK’s fees.
