JTHJ Box Office Collections: Day 1

The final opening day collections of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (JTHJ) is lower than expected. The film has collected Rs 13 crore nett on Day 1, making it the 9th highest opening day ever.

As expected, after a excellent start on Tuesday morning, business declined considerably for the afternoon and evening shows. Competition from Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar didn’t help either.

For the industry, the two films released on a record 4600 screens and it was easily the best Diwali day ever. Today (Wednesday) will be massive for both films.

Full list of Top 35 Day 1 collections. JTHJ is at No 9.

  • @all srk fans…you still say srk is the biggest indian star??? student of the year opening day 11 crores…& the so called kings opening day= 12.5 crores (acc to boi)…

  • Wow.. great.. actual gross is 15.23 crores which is excellent and highest for a diwali day and keeping all the factors in mind i.e. diwali, sos etc..

and diwali bonanza from yashji in the form of 4 srk-kat hot kisses has made this diwali truly special.:)

  • Once again you are biased indicine???
You hv included JTHJ as it collected aprx 13.25 crs…but where is SOS…as it collected almost equal to Barfii???
or just you were again in hurry to post another article about JTHJ????

  • Wow.. great.. actual gross being 15.23 crores is excellent and is highest ever for a diwali release… This inspite of several factors like diwali, SOS etc.. fantastic.

and a diwali bonanza from yashji in the form of 4 super hot kisses betwwen srk-kat has made this diwali truly special.

  • @tejas forget abt 12 or 20 crore wat abt content? funny storyline and tiresome screenplay..end of raj of ddlj YRF created raj made srk superstar and now killed the stardom makin him samar anand aka typical emraan hashmi chracter…worst of the year jthj

  • I can understand the frustation of some of the people here.. after all no one expected the super hot srk-kat kisses.. they have been talked about so much everywhere.. wow yashji u r a true genius..

masses n classes are absoultely loving this film.

  • really reviews r misleading audience, but i think anupama chopra loyalist of srk given 3stars..slammed the movie for poor story and weak music..

  • 12.5 not good collection for such a big movie. feeling sad for SRK fans. They were flying very high before the release. it means SRK losing his popularity. he is going down since 2010

  • well, just wait …i don’t think it will cross 20 cr today…it ld be meansly 20 cr…
    @ star
    actual gross is 15.23 crores ….dream on….even to indicine…
    according to BOI
    1st day is 12.50-12.75 crore
    & ur figures are 13.25…….
    so star dream on….& indicine u too…

  • just 13 crores.. such a shame.. a YRF production, directed by yash chopra, story by aditya chopra, music by a.r. rehman, lyrics by gulzar, no. 1 heroine katrina kaif along with anushka sharma.. kissing scenes.. so much hype.. after so much backing shahrukh manages just 13 crores.. is this ur starpower mr. shahrukh khan??? n u call urself a king!! such a shame.

  • even positive reviews didnt help shahrukh khan.. the positive reviews were due to the fact of respect to yash ji.. ye public hai ye sab jaanti hai

  • salman’s fans r gr8! they can give review 2 a movie without watching it. and talking about collection, expted more, but stil believe 4m 2day the real game will begin.

  • Meera (katrina kaif), who is a habitual trader with God, promises to give up Samar if Jesus would spare his life and keep him alive. It’s the silliest thing we have heard in a long time.

  • @jj hey dnt compare jthj with other movz istly it is romantic mov which ppl prefer less over action, other it got very lesser screen compared to other biggie low tickt price competition wid sos, diwali and after all that still it crossed 13cr its big success..tomorrow will show big jump 20cr+ is possible as critics+public gave it thumbs up!!

  • @indicine actual collection is only 12.5 crore. there is nothing new in this biased update. sos is 8.5 that als with small and worst screens.
    srk, u r gone

  • Taran Adarsh told that JAB TAK HAI JAAN collected 15.23 cr on its opening day. Can you clear me about your post on JTHJ collection?????

  • indicine please can you please tell why your first day collection report for JTHJ is almost 2crores less than what Taran Adarsh reported he said its highest diwali business ever that 15.23 crores

  • 1st day collection iz 15.23crores…………nd plz dnt compare romentic movie with competition nd less no. of screens with ett which was a solo release nd with holiday nd 3300 screens nd no puja pat..

  • @J – dont make excuses bro.. now u r saying there was competition from SOS.. before the release u guys were saying its gonna crush SOS.. now u r saying it affected JTHJ.. now u r also blaming diwali.. with such huge cast n crew n huge hype it managed only 13 crores that too on a festive holiday.. let me tell u films like ready n rowdy rathore released on non holiday(working days) n still got an opening more than JTHJ.. even when ETT released ramzaan was going on but still it got a record breaking opening of 33 odd crores.. so stop making excuces

  • Here’s JTHJ for single screens…

Ghaziabad-based veteran film distributor Shaaminder Malik, who focuses on the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh said the response for JTHJ wasn’t good. “Advance bookings are for November 14. But the true potential of the movie would be seen on November 15. In the North, JTHJ is pulling crowds only because it’s a YRF movie. Also, there’s publicity around it. But word of mouth is not good, and the movie is too lengthy. Son of Sardaar, however, is an out-and-out entertainer and is getting a better response in mass centres,” Malik said.

So if YRF hadn’t apllied their cheap tactics…JTHJ collections ld hv been even more less
