In 30-40 years people will forget stars like us: Ajay Devgan

Ajay DevganActor Ajay Devgan believes that 30-40 years from now people will forget stars like him because in the film industry what is out of sight goes out of mind.

“We are currently here and we are in front of the media and people, but I don’t think 30-40 years from today people would remember stars like us. There have been instances, there have been stars in the past, who the current generation does not remember and have forgotten (them)” the 43-year-old told reporters here on the occasion of being inducted into UTV Stars’ Walk of the Stars.

“They have been much bigger stars than what we are and if you can have all of them there (Walk of the Stars) so that their memory remains. I think they should live on, so it’s a fabulous thing to do,” added Ajay referring to the Walk of the Stars.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha, Ajay’s co-star in “Son of Sardaar”, has also become a part of the prestigious group and is elated.

“I am over the moon because my hand print gets to be with some of the biggest stars in our country today. I feel really honoured and privileged that I got the opportunity so early in my career. So, I just like to thank UTV Stars Walk of the Stars,” Sonakshi said.

  • ajay if u will make films lyk sos.den surely everbdy will frgt u!!pls make some gud muvies as u used to make earlier!!!!!!!!

  • Whatever Ajay said is true. Every major star will be replaced. He isn’t getting any younger. I just feel sad when his haters say he is nothing without Rohit Shetty. The truth is Ajay helped build the film industry since more than 20 years. He along with other action stars redefined action movies. He is the guy who took risks by doing movies such as Company, Bhagat Singh and many other character oriented movies. He has tasted success in every genere movie. The hardcore fans will never forget your contribution

  • Even after 30-40 years, few stars will be remembered.
Aamir will be remember as the actor who gave classy movies & as a risk taking actor.
Salman will be remembered as one of the biggest stars India has ever had, who once had the ability to make any film a hit with his presence.
Shahrukh will be remembered as one of the best actors in romantic genre.
Hrithik will be remembered as the most stylish & complete actor of the generation.
Ranbir will be remembered as an actor who took huge risks very early in his career.

  • ajay sahab i dont know about other but aap hamesha hamare dil me rahoge. film like pyar to hona hi tha, apaharan, the legend of bhagat singh, singham, once upn a time in mumbai…. never we would forget

  • Just want to say this: veteran actor manoj kumar saab (bollywood’s PATRIOTIC HERO) played the role of the great legendary patriot bhagat singh in SHAHEED in 1965 and ajay devgan played the same character in the movie THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH in 2002. There were many bhagat singh’s movies made in bollywood but unarguably these two movies were/are, are the best bhagat singh movies ever. No one has portrayed the role of this great patriot onscreen better than this two great and versatile actors and for this very reason, the names MANOJ KUMAR and AJAY DEVGAN will be remembered as long as the name BHAGAT SINGH exists, atleast in bollywood.
I am in no way undervaluing these actor’s other movies and their contributions to the bollywood in general but for me the above mentioned movies have an immortal place in bollywood as far as patriotic movies are concerned and more specifically as far as bhagat singh’s movies are concerned.

  • have watched both movies, reviewing them are comparing just like chalk with a cheese as both of them r inversely proportional to one another, they r hell different. just reviewing and generalizing them in 1 format will not help, still i must say while SOS does what it is promised to be from the beginning while JTHJ is no gr8 farewell to the finest story teller of our movie diaspora. Sorry legend you are just bowled out for a duck like a Bradman in his last innings but unlike Bradman who missed out being only 1 to average 100 in test cricket Yash Chopra has a privilege of being only 1 to do so in terms of making romantic sagas. SOS is entertaining yet its story has been made by many beaten till death but again its rollicking ride it takes you to fun of cinema at its extreme best and on that context it succeeds giving you value for your money. Ajay Devgan and Juhi Chawla are superb and made this movie above average fair. Now about JTHJ its strenght lies on story and its treatment of master story teller though its not in its best element but is let down by casting and main problem is shahrukh khan. Though he is a nice actor, now he is tad older & doesnot suit these sort of movies, may be because of his wrinkles which makes his part far from convincing for paying publics. so its gonna be definetely SOS in a long run. Tnx.

  • The funniest thing is that he thinks that he will be remembered for next 30-40 year. The kind of movies they r making , They will be forgotten in next 5-10 years. People will always remember SRK for DDLJ.Which is still running after 17 years.

I agree with your list but why did you ignore akshay kumar? contribution to action genre was immense, before him there wasn’t any actors who did stunt and karate round house kicks, and martial arts, akki bought this into indian cinema, as well as being one of the biggest stars of his generation and amazing comic timing. amazing looks especially in early days and made it without any godfathers or big banners.

  • dear guys i know we r quite pathetic in selecting goog movies n we r still hungry for mediocrity otherwise where on earth srk would have got best filmfare award for chakde beating abhisekh in guru, for KKHH beating Ajay in Zakhm. N look at his sense of script he will farewell Munna bhai series, 3I just to welcome movies like badshah & Paheli. He was no way better than salman in Karan Arjun & Amitabh in Mohabattein. He was far from convincing in K3G & KANK. N i cannot even dream of comparing with Rajes Khanna in Anand to his mediocre KHNH. yes far & few in between he has gr8 roles such as in daar, devdaas baazigar Mohabattein MNIK ChakDe & Swades. But he has also disasters such Ra1. but if you compare him with devgan u must be insane coz devgan has as array of movies such deewangi zakhm oatim PTHHT Company Bhagat Singh in his list which are not only better but far engrossing movies than that of SRK.
