Jai Ho has collected around 6.2 crore at the domestic box office on Wednesday, as the business of the film continued to drop both at single-screens and multiplexes.
The Salman Khan starrer has collected around 83.1 crore in 6 days and should complete its first week with net box office collections of 89 crore.
The worldwide *gross* is Rs 134.7 (approx) as the film has collected around Rs 26.5 crore at the overseas box office.
Looking at the trends, Jai Ho is likely to finish with ‘Above Average’ or ‘Hit’ status depending on how well the film performs in its second weekend.

- Sunday – 26.1 crore (58% growth)
- Monday – 9.46 crore (64% drop)

Although Point which I was making is movie better than Salman movies like Bodyguard, D2, Ready etc.
I did not consider many elements which you highlighted. While making above statement I considered only content (may be i did not make myself clear on that).
I disagree with one point, Salman has always been bashing an army of goons in the past as well and common man has found a connect to that.
I also find this logic flawed that Failures affect Salman but not Akki.
Its all about setting expectation right by the Promo. WIth Jai ho I thought its another Salman’s Masala although movie had a concrete message to it which was not highlighted.

(Billu Barbar was disaster in 2009), MNIK was semi hit 72 cr. with dharma production in 2010, Raone was disaster/below average/average/above average/semi hit/hit….I don’t know what was the verdict but as far as I know its budget was around 151 crore….don2 was hit with HELP OF FARHAN AKHTAR 107 cr Xmas released….JTHJ was only hit with HELP OF YASHRAJ PRODUCTION 101 cr Diwali released…I think between in 2008-2012 Ranbir Kapoor & Akshay Kumar were bigger star than Self Proclaimed king SRK. Wait for Gabbar, Holiday, Entertainment, Jagga Jasoos & Bombay Velvet. Ranbir Kapoor & Akshay Kumar are enough for SRK, let alone amir & salman.

I am not a Salman fan! I am the fan of Hrithik only but the wy SRK fans are mocking Salman is ridiculous. If Salman find it hard to cross 100 core in week, then for sure SRK would take more than 15 days to cross 100 crore if he did Jai Ho. If SRK is the king of overseas market, Salman is the king of Indian BO and his fans like him like the fans of Rajnikant, which is why he is called Rajnikanth of North India. If Salman ends up with 130 crore, then SRK would crawl at BO to cross even 80 crore. So don’t make crap jokes on the fans of Salman only to make them feel bad. @indicine I disagree but from what Im being told by family n friends in India then they all say there was less excitement for this film from the locals- large majority of muslim audience. That may or may not be true. Im just giving my views being away from my home town but just feels like the single screen audience have gone awol this week for a Salman starrer which is strange. The multiplex audience granted look at the overall package and that may explain why a less enthralling film like Ready did great business. Jai Ho had the better story but Ready had better music, better heroine and a better director which made it more glossy so that helped it. Your point is fair enough but again why compare Akkis Boss with Jai Ho…? Masala isnt the problem here- the hardcore fans seemed to have had a problem with Salman this year hence stayed away and Akkis problem is that Boss looked like K786 in everything- great music, great dialogues but same film revamped again. Jai Hos problem were self inflicted by Salman- too much faith in Sajid-Wajid, Sohail but he will learn as hes got Sajid Nadiadwala Sooraj Barjatya and Anees Bazmee lined up next so more gloss n grander sets are available. srk was never a flop artist and films were never a masala entertainer..and who says he struggles.he never changed his style of cinema in 2008-2012 he maintained his own style and scored clean hit.he tried his hands nce with ce and we saw what happend..

“Why is he still considered to be the king??” & that too when his movies weren’t earning as much as Salman’s movies before Chennai Express.
Here Are Some Of The Reason Which Defines He is Still ‘KING’
1)FIRST–
people often say that he plays the typical lover boy image & that’s why they earn more. They say he doesn’t play challenging roles & out of his comfort level. This is where people often misunderstand his Strength. True; he has played mostly lover boy characters. But then if one looks at his last 10 years graph, one will find a Rizwan Khan of MNIK, a Kabir Khan of ‘Chak De’! India, a Mohan of ‘Swades’, a Superhero in ‘Ra. One’ , A Drunker In ‘DEVDAS’, Villanous Don In Don Series etc where each of these movies have been either commercially or critically acclaimed or both.
2)SECOND–
People often say that he works with only few directors & that too of powerful banners. What they don’t understand is that “MOVIES WORK ON ACTOR’S PERFORMANCE NOT THE BANNER”. Yes they may garner some audience interest but nothing more. Even otherwise successful directors like

This shows that his movies are accepted across Worldwide & not just in India. Furthermore the fact that he has the largest fan-following across the world can’t be denied by even his haters.
5)FIFTH::
One these days often talk of 100 crore nett earners in India. At present this club has Aamir, Salman, Ajay, SRK, Hrithik & Akshay,Ranbir as the stars whose movies have earned more than 100 crore nett in India. However if one looks closely one will find that Except,ranbir SRK, there is not a single actor who hasn’t taken the help of remakes.

Last but not the least whenever we see any actors movie doing well, the first comment that one often hears is “SRK’s days are over.” This just shows that although his haters may not accept the fact that he is King of Bollywood, yet back in their minds they do so, And Compares Him With Every Single Actor To Degrade Him!! He has proved by Chennai Express that he has no one to compete in Bollywood and he will prove it in future also.
@Indicine Team, I was of mind that this site was a neutral side. Now, you have shown your true color. You are trying too hard to call Jai Ho a failure. Did you do the same with Ratoon.One, which was a failure from the Thakur, on top of releasing in Diwali period and having great casts and crews?
Has Jai Ho finished its run? It is just that its collections are up to what the trade had expected from.
If you want to analyse a film’s collections, don’t just bluff. Include all the factors. If you play favoritism, you will lose some audiences. Perhaps you know that. If you compare Jai Ho with Boss, then, also compare Ratoon.One (aka Ra.One) with Toon Pur Ka Super Hero. But you won’t do that. And we know why!

Out of the above five-facts, only no. 2 is in favor of Jai Ho, while other four are against. And no.1, no.3, no.4. no.5 are in favor of CE and Dhoom 3, while only no.2 is against them.
These are not excuses but facts.
