your stats doesn’t mention that Agneepath had 2 holidays + 1 day extended weekend (total 4 days), as 26th was on Thursday, while Jai Ho only had 3 days weekend of which just 1 day holiday.
Again, next year, Race 2 had 2 days holidays with Republic Day coming on Saturday, with a 3-day weekend.
@triniman, well, you yourself has proved that Salman star power is huge by stating that Jai Ho’s director is atrocious, so just imagine, if he can still give a 60 cr opening with just 1 holiday weekend, what he will do with a good director on a extenday holiday weekend?
I have seen Jai Ho, and though am a fan of Salman and Aamir, I have to say that Salman’s Jai Ho is better than D3 and miles better than CE.
I don’t know how much it will collect eventually, and hence I never gave any prediction, because i knew it would be risk as Salman in a movie with a message and all i doubted would not collect huge at first, as it is not an out-an-out entertainer.
My only prediction recently had been of K3 will enter 200 cr club, and well it did (or almost, if there are any doubters)
Superstars are known to be entertainers, and you need a director like Hirani to get all the nuances right for a movie with message.
But even with an average director of the calibre Sohail Khan, Salman proved that his star power can do decent business, and he is ready to take the blame if the film fails.
