Jai Ho Tuesday (Day 5) Box Office Collections: Drops

Jai HoJai Ho has dropped quite significantly both at single-screens and multiplexes on its second weekday at the box office. The film has collected around Rs 7.75 crore, taking its 5 day total to Rs 77.14 crore.

Looking at the way the film has been trending, Jai Ho is unlikely to beat the lifetime business of films like Dabangg (140 cr), Bodyguard (145 cr) and Dabangg 2 (155 cr). It remains to be seen if the film can go past Ready (121 cr), but unless there is a substantial growth in business this weekend, the film is likely to finish with total domestic collections of around 120-125 crore.

First week business will be around 89-90 crore.

  • Jai Ho emerged the fifth highest weekend of all time in terms of worldwide gross. The managed to gross 100 crore worldwide in three days making it the fifth film to hit the 100 crore mark.

The collections were slightly less than Dabangg 2 as far as Salman Khan starrers are concerned. Both India and Overseas saw slightly less collections for Jai Ho than Dabangg 2. The other 100 crore films outside these two Salman Khan starrers are Dhoom 3, Chennai Express and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Dhoom 3 is way out in front of Chennai Express with another big gap to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The target this year for a big film will be 200 crore worldwide opening weekend. Its a huge target with possibly one or two releases in 2014 having a chance. Below are the all time top ten opening weekends worldwide. All figures are GROSS.

  • Jai ho is an above average movie and better than craps dabbang2,ett,bodyguard,ready,dabbang etc. But some mad people comparing it with 3 idiots! ! ! LOL..height of stupidity!

  • We should really salute salman for keeping the ticket prices normal, jai ho was an awesome movie too. I hope ppl give it a chance as it gives nice message through the movie too.

  • @wtf:what the hell you have posted? ? K3 is behind ett, dabbang 2, yjhd, raone, jai ho in opening weekends? ?GO TO HELL. .btw you are a fan of sallu. .so i cann’t expect better comment from you. .k3 is better and bigger than each and every recent films of marigold star.

  • @nipun Nobody sane enough would ever dare to compare Jai Ho with 3 idiots…. you are still spouting rubbish about how Krrish 3 is the best film since 3 idiots…. Better anology will be to say Krrish 3 is the best cartoon film made in Bollywood since Toonpur Ka Superhero….! Okay granted its better than Ra One but thats nothing to shout home about so keep quiet about it if I was you..!

  • I hope it gets a clean HIT verdict. I wish Jai Ho released in Eid and Kick on Jan 24th.
Anyways, Salman has some very good films in hand in 2015 with Barjatya’s next and No Entry sequel.

  • Collections are steady but not rock steady so its still ok as they havent alarmingly fallen like other 100cr grossers did in past few yrs…

Friday then saturday will determine once n for all if film was appreciated. A jump on wknd looks likely so all izz well.

  • At this rate movie is going….it will find it hard to reach 110 crore…lol…the verdict is flop to average…..

  • If Eros has invested 90 crores on the movie and the lifetime collections of Jai Ho is 125 crores it will definitely be a hit. Jai ho has already collected around 23 crores till monday from overseas market. But I somehow feel the lifetime collections of Jai Ho would be around 135 crores if not more, this is my prediction.

  • ‘Jai ho’ will still get superhit or hit verdict though blockbuster is almost impossible now but overall the movie was very good and made Salman and his fans proud and we r happy that Salman has made a message oriented movie after 5 entertaining back to back blockbusters.Jai ho.

  • JaiHo is a superb movie. I have learnt lots of thing from this movie. If I get the chance, I’ll definitely help 3 ppls.

  • Name one actor (except Salman) whose last 3 movies have crossed 120 crores at indian boxoffice.
    There is no such actor.
But Salman will complete six movies with Jai HO (Remember 6 is double of 3 and noone else even has 3 while Salman will have 6).
You might say none of his movies have crossed 200 crores. But remember you can become first student in the class without getting highest score in any subject if you do very good in all subjects.

  • @indicine
why have not you posted any article about action jackson first look…there’s more than just only khan and kapoor in bollywood

  • Jai Ho will definitely be a HIT. How big that will be determined by second week collections.
JAI HO is doing good business and carrying very good word of mouth. It is just that collections are not up to the expectations of trade.

However it is to be noted that collections of JAI HO will be much better than so called hits and super hits in recent times.

  • Still jai ho can cross life time of dabangg 2 note that there is no big release this Friday jai ho will cross 180 cr and will become blockbuster

  • @nipun
He posted the truth. Krrish 3 did very very poor collections overseas so opening weekend was very low.
Learn to accept the bitter truth that Krrish 3 underperformed heavily and was not as good as you think. Writing “what the hell have you posted” doesnt make his post false LOL

  • @indicine
Can you explain why Bodyguard with a weekend collections of 51crs gone onto 145crs despite average wom…and Jai Ho is struggling to reach there..
Though i think Jai Ho will break Ready’s record..

    • @Babaji, Bodyguard released on Wednesday.. so the extended weekend plus holidays for Eid / Ganesha Chaturthi and Sunday helped the film big time. Jai Ho would have put up a bigger total if the film had 2 or 3 holidays in its first week.

  • @Suzanne Khan
What if the villains attack you like they did it to Salman and his family in the film?
Will you beat 100-150 people at the same time.

  • good that its gonna flop….it deserves to flop… all bad films need to flop essentially…ce and dhoom and krish didn’t but im happy this one has….rejoice all

  • He he he. Look at Salman fans. The ones, who used to talk about records and only records are now talking about substance. LoL. This shows their double standard. I have said many times, that sallu’s carrier is in its ending phase. So wait and watch. This movie is not going to cross 100 cr, that is for sure. Now see – ETT 198 cr>> Dabba2 158 cr >> crap ho 98 cr. Now you can guess the life time collection of Kick. It won’t be more than 48 cr.
