Jai Ho has collected around 60 crore in its first weekend at the domestic box office, with the Salman Khan starrer showing fantastic growth in business on Sunday. Even films that have excellent word-of-mouth fail to pick up by 60% on Sunday, something that Jai Ho has managed to do.
In some centres, the Sunday collections of Jai Ho was more than the combined total of Friday and Saturday, which clearly suggests that the word-of-mouth is probably the best for a Salman Khan film in recent times.
Today (Monday) will be extremely crucial. Initial reports from exhibitors for the morning shows, suggest that the film has managed to hold well at single-screens. Multiplex business is down by around 30-40% compared to Friday, which is normal.
If the film manages to hold at 10 crore+ today, then it has a good chance of crossing the 100 crore mark in its first week.

- Friday – 17.38 crore
- Saturday – 16.45 crore (5% drop)
- Sunday – 26 crore (approx) (58% growth)

Yes it is very low than what expected but stil not that bad.
WOM is great & all who watched film are loving it.
But main problem of movie is that we expected too much from it incase of BO because its Salman starer whereas ticket rates are not that much hicked which should be for a Salman starer.
Again also some part of audience might be decided to bycot the film which also affected.
But still i think its not that much bad thing.
i dont know how many films rather than Salman films crossed 150 crs mark even 125 crs mark in past…?

I knew that. It’s carrying good WOM publicity. Although, 26 crore is something which we expected for Friday, but good jump nevertheless. Today is indeed acid test for it, it has to cross 10 crore to have any chance of crossing 150 crore mark.

the second week won’t cross the 30cr mark like ETT so till now it looks like the film is heading for a 145-150cr max. lifetime just like other salman starrers dabang-dabang2-bodyguard!
another good thing by salman is that he is not releasing fake official figures.. infact eros has not released official figures for jai ho which is great.. jai ho has left the trade to do its job.. lots of fake records were made last year releasing fake official collections.. jai ho salman for ur honesty

In all honesty, sunday (holiday) collection should be compared with CE’s first day, dhoom 3’s sun, and K3’s monday collections all of which were holidays. based on that, jai ho’s only 26 cr is still a bit disappointing w/ 4000+ screen.
(33 cr CE vs 38 D3 cr vs 36 cr K3 vs 26 cr JaiHo) -with kind of growth in business these days, 30+ cr is a must for these stars to be termed “consistent” superstars!
Semi hit at the best case.. Due to national holiday it collected 25 crs.. But today it dropped badly in multiplexes.. 9 crs maximum today, and rest up to lallu bhabhi’s rikshawala fans.. Jail ho..

If Krrish3 was non holiday release, box office will be (177cr-100cr)=77cr.
If agneepath was non holiday release, box office will be (121cr-100cr) =21cr.

wow good news.the fact is that movie failed to beat records because it released on extremely bad period with ticket price of ready,s time and also a new heroine with zero look,bad music,bad director,bad producer,average and very short trailer it was only dabangg salman who manage to get good opening otherwise other A list actor would failed to cross 10cr on its opening with these disadvantage but our bhaijaan mangae to put a very good 60cr weekend with a social movie.that,s the power of real superstar hatsoff to you bhaijaan.you can also see the result of talaash it was collected only 80cr with A list actess in gap of 3years but bhai is bhai as aamir also said that he can manage any type of script with any actress and that,s proof with jai ho.

That’s great 60cr is a great collection just in 3 days… for non-holiday release.. Chennai express was in 96cr..and krrish3 76cr…and jai ho ticket prices was too less as compared to these films..that means Salman you rock again as always… 6th blockbuster in row….luv u Salman..
Hehehe. Before the release, some sallu fans said that it will collect 120 cr in first weekend. But what it collected is – 120/2=60 cr. Lol. Seriously feeling pity for sallu and his innocent fans. They are not ready to accept that his days are over. Now its absurd if we will talk about collections of his movies. All his upcoming craps will have the same fate at B.O.

Hrithik’s KNPH, KMG, Krish & Dhoom 2 were all blockbusters which did not release during any festive.
The only blockbuster’s which released during festive was Krish 3/ Agneepath.
Salman/ SRK blockbusters only release during EID (Dabang, Wanted, BG, Dbng 2, Ready, ETT) / Diwali (OSO & CE)..other wise not decent.

I haven’t seen Jai Ho yet as i have seen the stalin movie in telugu. It was good in telugu. but i dont know how it is in Hindi – Jai Ho. I will see the movie in the next weekend. The collection’s are below expectation’s. I thought it would touch 200 cr…but looking at current collections it is difficult to collect 140-150 crs.
Also looking at the collections i dont think word of mouth is that great. if it was great than on Sunday (National Holiday) it should have collected 32-36 crs just like what Krish 3 did on 4th day (Monday). As WOM was good for Krish 3 it collected 36 cr on day 4 (Monday – Semi National Holiday – AP/TN was not holiday). When it released in more no of screens than Krish 3 it should have collected 38 – 40 cr but it did not happen.
The fact is the movie is not being widely accepted…i dont think it will attain Blockbuster status..but definate Hit & 2nd weekend collections will decide if it can attain Super Hit.

160 crores lifetime would be absolutely terrific for a non holiday and festive release with low ticket prices. surely a superhit if not a blockbuster. more than anything jai ho is a brilliant film. salman khan rocks.
wom is very poor. pain killers sale has increased since jai ho release due to increase in headache patients. yesterday all rickshawalla were on uncalled strike as they couldn’t tolerant torture of jai ho so stood at home only.
