The Rafi Foundation – Mumbai Chapter, in memory of the singing legend Mohd Rafi is releasing ‘Sargam’ – a special issue magazine, on his 27th death anniversary on 31th July. The magazine will carry articles, photographs, anecdotes and reminiscences from people closely associated with the singing star.
The newly formed foundation sustained by the advertising revenue, aims to bring closer all the Rafi fans. In memory of the prodigy, the foundation will institute awards for extra ordinary musicians and also build a library having his works.
Mohd Rafi is known for his mellifluous singing of soft romantic numbers ghazals, bhangra, bhajans, classicals, sad songs, duets, and even high pitched fast numbers.
