Filmmaker Manoj Kumar, who is upset with the makers of “Om Shanti Om” for re-releasing it in Japan without deleting the controversial scenes taking a dig at him, has decided to take action against the producers of the movie.
The 2007 Shah Rukh Khan-starrer blockbuster was directed by Farah Khan and was produced by Gauri Khan.
“I will take a serious action this time. I have no hard feelings for Shah Rukh and is happy that he is busy with his projects, but by insulting a person’s image how can it be beneficial for your film,” Manoj Kumar, 75, told IANS.
“I don’t know the date when I will go to the court. It should be tomorrow (Tuesday) or day after (Wednesday). I would file civil and criminal proceedings against the producers. It should be anytime soon,” he added.
The actor of hits like “Neelkamal” and “Hariyali Aur Rasta” is “disturbed”.
“I am a strong person. I can bear physical injury, but if someone tries to injure my soul that cannot be forgiven,” he said.
In 2008, Manoj Kumar took the producers of the film to court as he was not happy with a spoof made on him in “Om Shanti Om”.
The court had asked the makers to remove all the scenes that were found distasteful by the actor from all the prints as well as broadcast material forever.
“First time (late) Yash Chopra got Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan to my house and they said they will remove all those scenes from the film and then the things were sorted. But later, when they didn’t do so, I told Yash Chopra about it and he said they have stabbed him in the back,” he added.
The actor-director says when it comes to his self-respect, he can’t compromise.
“I don’t have any personal clash with Shah Rukh Khan. He is a nice person, but when it comes to my self-respect, then I can’t compromise on it,” said Manoj Kumar known for directing patriotic films like “Purab Aur Paschim” and “Upkar”.
“My grandchildren recently asked me that friends were asking – is his grandfather the same as shown in the film? When my wife goes out for some pooja, her friends ask her – is your husband same as portrayed in the film? How does one expect me to react in such a situation,” said the veteran.

Anyhow portraying a person on screen without counseling with the said person is not a good thing to do. It is both insulting and disturbing the personal space of the person. So I hope for srk’s sake that he takes down that part of the movie and learn from this mistake and try to build a stronger relationship with the audiences. Cause his stardom is getting away cause he is sometimes a little cocky. Money Gould never change a person. I like srk before he was too damn rich and I like him now. I will like his films to come. But I am not sure that wether I’ll like him Asa person in the future.

i should say slam the media for making SRK whatever he is, which actually he dont deserve!!he should be put in jail, for insulting yesteryear actors like manoj kumar. nobody has the right to insult other actors publicly. its late, i’ll say to take judicial actions. all the SRK movies should be banned. that would be the best punishment along with a public apology.who the hell he thinks, whats he now??LOSER!!
I am tired of defending srk. Why are there so many srk haters. Why? What’s the reason. Can’t talk to hundred men and change their opinions at once. Haters will be haters. It is fine to mimic actors, but if a senior actor is offended by it and makes a complaint, it is better to delete it.

Farah got it back when her very best friend srk slapped her hubby and became the joke of the year. For all the insulting, her brother Sajid, got a earful in public from Gowariker. Jaisi karni waisi bharni.
I dont understand what is wrong with Mr. Manoj Kumar , I am sure Yashji would not have said SRK is a back stabber as Mr. MK is claiming coz he loved to work with SRK and even did his last film with him all this is a publicity stunt and without any rhyme or reason and the million dollar question is why?
