There was tremendous curiosity over the Best Actor of the decade award this year at the IIFA and Shahrukh Khan has been awarded the coveted trophy for his performances in Chak De India (2008), Devdas (2003) and Veer Zaara (2005).
SRK over the last decade has managed to maintain his position as one of the top actors in the industry and at the age of 44, the actor shows no sign of slowing down. His list of upcoming films include Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, Superhero film RA – 1, Farah Khan’s Happy New Year and Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2.
The other top contender for the Best Actor of the decade award, Hrithik Roshan, missed out on the decade award but won the Best Actor of the year award for his fabulous performance in Jodha Akbar.

With all due respect to SRK, Hrithik should have won this award. Who can forget performances like Koi Mil Gaya where he swept not only all the Best Actor awards but also all of the critics Awards. How about the fact that of the 13 films he has a lead or supporting role in, he was nominated for an award for 8 of them! That is something unmatchable!! He has regularly received not only recognition from the public but also from the critics.
I’m really really really happy that SRK won this award!!! SRK deserves this award and he also deserves the best actor award!! I really dont think hrithik deserves the best actor award because till now I havent liked any of his films and I dont like hrithik!!!!!! lets debate and look at the facts, film by film. compare to other actors. remember we are not talking about the star with the most successful fims or the most star power, but the star who is the BEST ACTOR.

lets debate, cos one name that crops to mind instantly who should be the best actor of the decade is paresh rawal. surely paresh rawal is a better actor than shah rukh ??? there are several other worthy candidates, and mr amitabh bhachan is one of them.

I am soooooo happy that shahrukh won at least one award this year. :) He really deserve this award. He proved his talents and showed his charm by movies like K3G, Veer Zaara, Swadesh(though not a hit won good critical acclaim and SRK won the best actor award for his performance in the movie), Chak De India.
He deserve this award more than anyone else, because when he was coming to the industry he was noone. There were no one to help him unlike for Hrithik(Who came to the industry and climbed up in the industry mostly with the help of his father), Amir(who stepped into the industry with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak directed by his cousin,Mansoor Khan and whose most family members were part of the film industry) and Abhishek(who is just using his father’s name shamelessly and not showing a single sign of talent).
Whereas SRK has made his own identity with his hard work and the whole world has accepted his good work. Legendary Directors like Karan Johar, Yash Chopra and Farah Khan became friends of him after he came to the industry and they continued to offer Shahrukh good films when they saw his fantastic performance and when they realized how much he is being accepted by the audience.
MANY MANY CONGRATULATIONS SHAH RUKH!! You are the true king of Bollywood. I wish u’ll win the “Actor of the next decade award” and the “Actor of the 21st century award” too.. :) All the best for your future.

Jodha Akbar, Umrao Jaan, Dhoom2, Taal & Provoked, also in Shabd.. Shabd wasn’t a great movie but her acting was good. Rani too is a good actor.. I loved her acting in Hum Tum & Black, but can’t remember that she did a great work in any other movies in 10 years ( if u do remember so please mention them) Aishwariya for sure won the award because she worked harder and in some more difficult roles than Rani did.
Abhishek deserves to win the award as the best actor in a comic role for Dostana.. Honestly.. we’re all different people.. with me.. I loved Dostana and found it a very very funny movie.. a quality comedy unlike those crap comedies e.g. Golmaal, Welcome cc2c and the rest.

Hum Tum, Sathiyaa, Kank & Black, but Bunty Aur Bubly wasn’t a very good movie, and nothing was special in her acting, I didn’t like her acting in the last scene of Chalte Chalte too.
Well, who wins and who doesn’t.. it’s a fate, being lucky or unlucky, now Aishwariya never fitted to be a Bachan’s bahu but Rani did ( and this didn’t happen) Rani was the most matching pair with Abhishek, as I said, it’s a fate.. and I always had a feeling that Aishwariya didn’t marry Abhishek because she loved him.. she just wanted to steal him from Rani..a revenge only because she stole the movie Chalte Chalte from her!
