He is considered Bollywood’s king of romance, but superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he was never keen on featuring in romantic sagas until filmmaker Yash Chopra convinced him.
“I was so anti doing love stories because I thought I am not good with them. I remember Yashji (Yash Chopra) tell me, till you love, nobody will love you back. So true” tweeted Shah Rukh who did grey roles in the beginning of his career.
Shahrukh, who started his tryst with showbiz as an army man in TV show “Fauji”, made his Bollywood debut with a romantic movie titled “Deewana” in 1992.
His first movie with Yash Chopra was the 1993 film “Darr”, in which he played an obsessed lover. Thereafter, under the Yash Raj Films banner, Shah Rukh went on to do films like “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (1995), “Dil Toh Pagal Hai” (1997), “Mohabbatein” (2000), “Veer-Zaara” (2004), Chak De India (2007) and “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” (2008) — all of which cemented his loverboy image on the big screen.
Now, he has dabbled in romance yet again for “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, Chopra’s last directorial venture. He has shared screen space with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the movie, set to release on November 13th (Diwali weekend).

Starring Shahrukh Khan, West Bengal’s brand ambassador, a two-minute promotional video film on the state, has won an award at a Japanese film festival’s travelogue section.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Facebook today that the first film on “Brand Bengal” made by the state government has won the coveted 2nd Festival Asia TV and Film on ‘Journey’ organised by the government of Japan.
Directed by Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the promotional film captures the present day progressive Bengal with its culture, heritage, scenic beauty and various development initiatives.
“This is very encouraging news for us as the jury liked our film,” Chowdhury said.
With breathtaking shots of the Sunderbans, mountains, hills, rivers and tea gardens of north Bengal and beautiful sea beaches of Digha, the ad film not only showcases the natural beauty of the state but also highlights the rich cultural heritage of Kolkata and Shantiniketan.
A brainchild of the Chief Minister, the film has ‘King’ Khan proudly saying, “There is something special about Bengal.”

See I want to tell one thing that period SRK was salman friend and he never want to compete with him but afterwards he shows his real power and within 2 years the ruling of 10-12 Srk end either in box office or fan following its ten time higher what SRK did in 10-12 years.
Ranbir Kapoor stated in Mumbai Times that ‘ People like Salman because he is good at heart’. Why didnt he name SRK? A question for SRK fans.. :)
