He is considered Bollywood’s king of romance, but superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he was never keen on featuring in romantic sagas until filmmaker Yash Chopra convinced him.
“I was so anti doing love stories because I thought I am not good with them. I remember Yashji (Yash Chopra) tell me, till you love, nobody will love you back. So true” tweeted Shah Rukh who did grey roles in the beginning of his career.
Shahrukh, who started his tryst with showbiz as an army man in TV show “Fauji”, made his Bollywood debut with a romantic movie titled “Deewana” in 1992.
His first movie with Yash Chopra was the 1993 film “Darr”, in which he played an obsessed lover. Thereafter, under the Yash Raj Films banner, Shah Rukh went on to do films like “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (1995), “Dil Toh Pagal Hai” (1997), “Mohabbatein” (2000), “Veer-Zaara” (2004), Chak De India (2007) and “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” (2008) — all of which cemented his loverboy image on the big screen.
Now, he has dabbled in romance yet again for “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, Chopra’s last directorial venture. He has shared screen space with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the movie, set to release on November 13th (Diwali weekend).

@amol, i have already mentioned that, Similar strumming pattern and a few similar chords don’t make two songs the same…and as the song progresses, the chords too vary and the two tracks become as different as chalk and cheese. And all the news are the same!!! they did not provide clear evidences for it. And if u are thinking this way.. then all the western songs would be labeled as copy, right??

Here in srk’s own words: “i was so anti doing love stories because i thought i am not good with them”!!! Perhaps srk’s first “TRUE” confession and many feel that his acting histrionics (particularly in his romantic movies) were the most irritating and mental torturing among all the actors. Only in chak de,swades did his acting look convincing,realistic and more importantly non-overacting type. Otherwise most of the time he overacts unnecessarily. Yashji should have made his last movie with a young talented actor like ranbir rather than an ageing & unhealthy looking srk especially if it was to be a romantic movie. Anyway srk fans will be grateful to yashji if he can revive srk’s lagging career with jthj otherwise i am sure yashji would be the first target of these srk fans in case jthj fails at the box office.
