Dharmendra was recently seen promoting his film and had a Q & A session with the press. He was asked as to whom he would want to play his character if a biopic on his life was to be made.
The yesteryear superstar said “Actually I am a very lazy man. I write sometimes and then I feel lazy so I stop. But if one day I am finally able to pen down my life or if someone else pens down my life whom would I want to portray Dharmendra onscreen? Salman Khan. I think he has a lot of characteristics which are very similar to mine. I think he will be able to portray me onscreen perfectly.”
So, the superman of Bollywood has made it clear and we agree with his choice. Would you want to see a biopic on Dharmendra? Tell us!

Dharam Ji is a brilliant actor and has give some Knockout performances in Satyakam, Sholay, Pratigya, Chupke Chupke and Dharam Veer . He was really a Greek God when he was young but because of his drinking habit his face does not look that good and you cannot compare the complexion of a person’s young age with his old age . Salman once said that He is a huge fan of Dharam Paaji . I hope a Biopic on Dharam Ji’s Life is made because he is a brilliant actor, Great face, Awesome physique in his prime career and above all a great human being .
@nipun, according to the Legend Dilip Kumar, Dharamji was the handsomest man during his time. This was said by many stalwarts of those times. In his own words – “Whenever I get to meet with God Almighty I will set before Him my only complaint – why did You not make me as handsome as Dharmendra?”, Dilip Kumar.
Now, if you think that is overrated, may be you need some critic like Anupama Chopra to second it for you to believe. lol.
I would advise you not to go overboard on giving opinions or reviews on each and everything.
I know you are obssessed with reviewers. Here is something I want to share. I used to read reviews of almost every film a few years back, and it got so bad that while watching Lagey Raho Munnabhai i was analysing every thing from the start.
I knew then and there that i was not enjoying the movie but taking out all the enjoyment by desecting every scene. I stopped then and there and got back to enjoying the movie once again. It is one of my fav movies though.
Reviewers corrupt our mind and makes us judgemental and we go in to see the movie and start judging from their view point, completely forgeting that we are there to enjoy ourselves and not pick out faults.
Many great movies have loopholes in script, but you enjoy them and you remember them. They all leave a mark. If you go on dissecting each and everything you will never enjoy anything in life.
Just my two cents.

Yes, Salman is apt for Dharmendra biopic while SRK is apt for BigB’s biopic. Just like Dharmendra remained a smaller star compared to BigB, similarly Salman has always been a smaller star than SRK.

I haven’t watched many 60s’ Films of Dharamji. I have watched Sholay where He certainly doesn’t look like the most handsome person of that era. But I am not saying that I’m right as I haven’t seen many of his earlier pics.
@Yuvraj: Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. You find Salman most handsome. But many don’t find. It depends on one’s choice. And what’s this big nose concept? Most of the handsome male models have Big nose. I like those kind of looks which don’t belong to everyone. Salman looks good. But I have seen many people in my life who look better than him. But looking as uniquely good as Hrithik is not everyone’s cup of tea.

@JC: Sorry. I don’t agree. Yes, I judge a film ,but I enjoy it too when a film is good. I had enjoyed watching films like ZNMD,Queen, Piku, Badlapur etc. Films like Udaan has stayed, will stay with me for a long time. But Everything cann’t be enjoyed. @jc Perfectly said. Even I used to read reviews before watching a film, and they would then affect my view of the film. But there are many examples where poor films get better reviews than really good movies. And when a good film gets bad reviews.
Eg. The Lone Ranger was bashed by critics but was such an enjoyable film.
Abour nipun, he watches movies just to analyse them, and then try to show his low cinematic knowledge by shoving his poorly written reviews down everyone’s throat.
