‘I don’t share screen-space with Shahid’ says Kareena Kapoor

There is tremendous excitement around Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjabi’ and most of the hype is around Shahid Kapoor reuniting with his ex-girlfriend and ‘Jab We Met’ co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Unfortunately, those wishing to see Kareena and Shahid together will have to wait, as the actress has reiterated that she doesn’t have a single screen with the newly-married star

“Shahid and I are in different sections of the film. There is not one scene together. Shahid and Alia Batt have separate segments. And I have mine with Daljit.” Kareena said.

When asked about Daljit, Kareena says ”He’s a huge star in Punjab, very talented. And now he’s making his debut in Hindi cinema with me. It’s very exciting because Daljit is a wonderful actor. And my pairing with him is so fresh. After working with all the Khan superstars, I am now working with Bollywood’s first turbaned hero. Too cool.”

The actress is on cloud nine after the success of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan, where she had three scenes (pun intended), but says Udta Punjab is a fitting reply to those complaining about her doing only mainstream films.

“For those who have been complaining that I only concentrate on big mainstream potential blockbusters like 3 Idiots and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjabi is a fitting reply.”
