Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale has been panned by the critics, but the director of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has said critic reviews doesn’t affect him. Rohit added that he is “sitting and laughing”
“I don’t read reviews because I get slammed every time. It’s better that I don’t”
“The first or second time that my film was panned, I was much younger but this is the eleventh time that it’s happening, so I am sitting here and laughing”
“It’s about having a certain choice; I cannot say that they’re (critics) wrong and I am right because I am catering to a different audience They probably want me to do something different. I am done with reacting to reviews. I am mature now and don’t get affected. I am okay with it” the director said.
Also starring Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, Dilwale released in theatres on December 18.

Dont worry Rohit Shetty.Keep on laughing.You are master of your style of film making,you are best masala film maker.Your status wouldnt be affected if dilwale doesnot earn as much as it should be.You are the only film maker whose two masala movies are in 100 cr overseas grosser.(1 already did and 2nd will do it soon).2nd director who is having two 100 cr overseas grosser only behind Raju Hirani who has one 100cr and one 200cr overseas grosser.Many people found dilwale even below CE but I found it lot better than CE.The compliment by one of my friend during interval “Yar Rohit Shetty ki kiya baat ha, Ye tou ab khud brand ban chuka ha ,entertainment is ki movies pe a k bas ha,is se zayada koi aur director itna consistently entertain nai kar sakta”-And after dilwale my 2nd friend said(who started going to cinema at HNY time with me & clearly wasnt happy that time) “Yar tumhari choice boht achi ha ,kiya movie thi serious be aur mazahia(comedy) be maza agaya”.Happily my all 4 friends loved dilwale.So Rohit Keep on making such entertaining films even in future,me and my group is very happy with your direction and many others also.Still worldwide Dilwale will be watched more than BM,so jam ka raho aur hanste raho

Wached dilwale two times but never got bored for a single second. Best movie in its genere.
I watched it first time on saturday night with my three friends and enjoyed a lot.
And it was 2nd time they forced me to watch dilwale again.. though they are not srk fan.
Rohit sir you movie is good and SRK , Kajol acted very well teh problem is boycatt by politicial protest how good is bajirao mastani still 17 cr behind and it is still far from them still it will go 180 cr and overseas it will collect more then $ 30 million for sure so you are clearly winner so many negativity aroud dilwale becase of the frking BJP .
Well said Rohit you are the best nobody can design the kind of action you design dont bother about these critics they have no agenda and if they have its only to criticize when a Fast and Furious Movie comes they will heap praises on it because they find logic in it but when you create the same magic in our movies they will criticize you for me you are the best in this genre and continue to do this whether it is with SRK or AJAY or SALMAN or HRITIKH do what you are good at forget about these guys let them write what they want to after all when they cannot understand that a movie is made for audience to go and have fun and relax their minds after a stressfull mind who can make them understand logic

@Indicine Team 4:43 pm : okey, i have no problem if Bajirao Mastani landing cost is even more or even less than that but what exactly i meant or wanted to talk about is Dilwale’s Landing cost which is 105 without SRK’s fees as you said, so it would be extremely unfair if you add his fee, especially since SRK himself is the producer of the film, so kindly correct Dilwale’s total landing cost and remove his fee.

@sss, we have spoken about this before too. 180 crore was including Salman Khan’s fee / Satellite Rights. PRDP had to recover around 90-100 crore from theatrical, it has done so just from India business. Overseas business was a bonus. Super Hit.

@sss, PRDP footfalls were about 10-15% more than HNY because it performed better at smaller centres where the ticket prices are low.
@Indicine Team : But Salman Khan was not the producer of PRDP, while SRK is the producer of Dilwale then how can we even talk about his fee? and adding his fee in the budget is a far thing. also SRK doesn’t take fee when he works with other production house like YRF or Dharma etc so how can he take fee when he himself is producing the film.. except 2,3 years in the beginning of his carrer, he has never taken fee for his film after that which he said several times in his articles / interviews, which was posted by you too some years before .
and also i don’t think so Eros or you have added Ranveer singh’s Fee in Bajirao Mastani’s total Landing cost ( though if his fee has been added or not it doesn’t matter for me/us ) , also if eros has confirmed that total landing cost of BM is less than 140 cr, then SRK has confirmed countless times that he doesn’t take fee for films, as well as RCE can confirm Dilwale’s total Landing cost is 105 just like Komal Nahta said ( who always announce / give total landing cost after confirming from official, without confirming from official ppl like Komal doesn’t announce / give total – LC ) .

Actually the only movie I didnt like was SIngham 2 by Rohit.I enjoyed Golmat serious,Sunday,All the best as they were very entertaining.Enjoyed Singham because it was very well made film.Found Bol Bachan average.I was comparing CE with dilwale only because CE was Rohit most successful film.And no I am not praising it because the movie had srk.As i mentioned my 2 friends compliments,that was much worthy thing for me as I asked my friends to watch dilwale with me.
Movie verdicts Depends on domestic business not for overseas business
Rohit Shetty will never be worried. He will keep on laughing with even an extra tangible laughing gas cylinder beside him just incase he runs out of his own laughter. He is a big boy an innovative director, earned so much bucks and delivered many blockbuster super hits and an Atbb despite negative reviews, meaning audiences accepted it and even in television rights his movies are amongst the most shown, so why worry. He will be back not only with Ajay but with Srk to make a bolder statement.
