Humshakals opened well at the box office on Friday and held up to around the same level on Saturday at the India box office. The film, released on around 2900-3000 screens in India, had the 3rd widest release for any film this year after Jai Ho (3900 screens) and Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty (3250 screens). It was the biggest ever release for a Saif Ali Khan starrer.
On Friday, multiplex business was better than Holiday while single-screens, as expected, were poorer but better than most Saif Ali Khan starrers. Mumbai circuit was by far the best for the film with business of Rs 4.24 crore. Delhi/UP contributed Rs 2.15 cr, East Punjab collected more than 1 crore, Rajasthan and C.P Berar were decent. Opening day business from the Mysore circuit was better than Holiday.
On Saturday, multiplexes picked up well (steady upward trend, nothing big), single-screens were down. Mumbai circuit continued to be the best performing circuit, followed by Delhi/UP and East Punjab.
Sunday has opened better than both Friday and Satuday. Looking at the early trends from a few centres (morning and afternoon), the film is likely to collect around 13 crore on Sunday, which would take the weekend total to around the 35 crore mark – lower than Jai Ho, Gunday, Holiday and 2 States. The fate of the film will be decided on Monday.

i have not seen humshakals and i m not going to see it after reading the reviews, but i feel that the movie should do well at BO and give a tight slap to critics..

I haven’t watch it yet but first 3 days suggest movie must be average like houseful 1 that’s y it sustained well on Saturday and good growth on Sunday
