The first awards of the year, the Star Screen awards held in Mumbai today has concluded. Hrithik Roshan has won the Best Actor Popular award beating the likes of Aamir Khan for Ghajini and Shahrukh Khan for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi! The others nominated for the Best Actor award were Abhishek Bachchan for Dostana, Akshay Kumar for Singh Is King, Amitabh Bachchan for Sarkar Raj, Naseeruddin Shah for A Wednesday and Ranbir Kapoor for Bachna Ae Haseeno.
The Star Screen awards ceremony will be aired next week on Star Plus.

Hrithik deserved it…I was impressed with the whole casts performances, although it’s a historical movie. Hrithik looked ambitious, n promising with his appearances as the Mughal baron Akbar, besides with a nice chemistry with Aishwariya….

Bravo, Star Screen Awards for giving Hrithik the award which he so well deserved. I also touched by Akshay’s nobility. My faith has been restored that meritocracy indeed exists. I hope Filmfare will follow suit and not let us down otherwise it will completely lose its credibility.
