Hrithik confirmed to enact Amitabh Bachchan’s epic role!

There was a lot of confusion and discussion over which actor is ideal to enact the legendary role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Agneepath, the film that won the actor a national award!

Well, according to Mumbai Mirror (Times group), Karan Johar has finalized Hrithik Roshan to play the male lead in the film. The script will be heavily modified and the film will be converted into a sleek gangster film. Says Karan Johar in a recent interview “It will be more modern; set in present time. It will be more like a biopic of an underworld don.”

He also recollects how his father, the late Yash Johar, was heart broken when Agneepath sank at the box-office “My father’s biggest disappointment in life was the failure of Agneepath. Because it was so respected, so revered and had a huge cult following but commercially, it didn’t do well. I remember that it broke my father’s heart at that point that they didn’t refer to it as a commercial success, and he always brought it up. I have decided to do this remake for him, and hopefully, it will work this time.”

Box office is unpredicatable, but with Hrithik in the lead, a historic opening is guaranteed. Probably one of the reason why Karan opted for Hrithik over Abhishek, who many thought was more suitable for the particular role?
