Housefull 3 Monday (Day 4) Box Office Collections: Early Estimate

Housefull 3 has passed the Monday test with flying colours, as the film has collected Rs 8-8.5 crore on Day 4. The collections are good, considering the fact that multiplex ticket prices drop on Monday and it was also the beginning of the Ramzan period.

We had mentioned in our report yesterday, that a good hold will be somewhere between the 8 - 9 crore mark and that’s exactly what ‘Housefull 3’ has achieved on its first weekday at the box office

Moving forward, Tuesday has become as big a test as Monday these days. Acceptable drop would be somewhere around 10%, anything more than 15-20% wouldn’t be a good sign – more so because the film has plenty of open weeks at the box office and a positive trend would go a long way in ensuring that the film beats the 112 crore figure of the last ‘Housefull’ film.

In the recent past, unlike pre-Diwali, Ramzan hasn’t had a big impact on movie business. Films like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhani’, ‘ABCD 2’ have performed very well. ‘Baahubali’ was outstanding too. ‘Housefull 3’ should  remain largely unaffected, but there could bigger than expected drops at smaller centres Tuesday onwards.

Looking at the trend, the first weekend business of ‘Housefull 3’ could get close the 80 crore mark. The film should eventually be the second highest grosser of 2016 (not including The Jungle Book), as early as the second weekend.

The hold over the next few days and growth this coming weekend (open week with no major releases) should give a better picture on the final collections of the comedy film.

If all goes well, it should be Akshay Kumar holding the first top spots in the highest grossers list, at the end of the first half of 2016.

Housefull 3 Box Office Collections

  • Friday – 15.21 crore
  • Saturday – 16.3 crore
  • Sunday – 21.80 crore
  • Monday – 8.5 crore (approx, early estimate)
  • Total collections – 61.81 crore

  • Suleman aka Salsman……is wrost of Bollywood. …
calling him an actor is insulting to acting.

  • Ramzan begins in India from today, a major drop is expected in the collections from today!

  • @ Nipun,

You are writing a review of a movie, and you are calling fools who watched and liked it?

I don’t know how much big dumb are you.

Aren’t you then one big fool yourself when you paid to watch this movie only to get disappointed?

You are supposed to “REVIEW” a movie and not review the audience or on what they laughed or enjoyed. They got their money’s worth, cuz they enjoyed for what they paid, unlike you.

The biggest fool is the person who think or call others a fool. Remember this and your life will be better. God Bless !!!!

  • Fantastic! KHILADI is back!No offense to Hrithik or Hrithik fans, who I have great respect for,but the back to back successes of Airlift and Housefull 3 have given Rustom a fair chance to emerge a hit.Let’s wait and watch.Eagerly awaiting SULTAN#Eid2016 and Rustom#Independenceday2016

  • Aa Gaya Itihas Ka Pehla Adhyaye

    Indus Civilization = Hindu Civilization

Indus Civilization is the most oldest Civilization in history of the world. No one can’t miss it.
Watching this movie will be an epic, so don’t miss it. You can’t get second chance for it

  • That’s good, it’s now safe to say it will be at least a ‘Hit’ in worst case scenario from now on as there’s no major release for a whole month.

BTW, Mohenjodaro’s motion poster is out!

  • @Farhad
No offence but cinema doesn’t go like that.
    It’s like this-
Sajid Sir produced the film at production cost of 65 crores.
Then he sells all the rights of the film to Eros for a sum, which is 100 crores in this case. Then Eros sells the satellite rights, music rights and other rights to various other people. He is expected (just in this case) to get 45-48 crores from that rights. Then he spends 20 crores on marketing of the film which makes the total cost for Eros at 120 crores.
He has recovered 45 crores(min) from other rights and he has to recover left from the distributor share at cinemas, which is 75 crores(maybe even less, but not more than that in any case).
    So let’s asume your statement-
65 crores overseas($10 million) and 125 crores domosetic which makes the distributor share =95 crores (190/2) and the total profit for Eros = 45 (min)+95)-120=140-120 = 20 crores
And profit for Sajid sir = (Price of sale to Eros)-(Production Budget) = 100-65 = 35 crores profit for Sajid sir.
And the 85 crores budget you are talking about is the production budget=65 crores(by Sajid sir)+the marketing budget =20 crores (spent by Eros)=85 crores
    That’s how film business works….
