Holiday has done well on its second day at the box office, with business at multiplexes picking up by around 12-15% on Saturday. The growth in business came from circuits like Mumbai, West Bengal and Mysore. Bihar, Rajasthan opened well on Friday and remained steady on Saturday.
Holiday has collected around 24 crore in 2 days and should end its first weekend with net box office collections of around 38-39 crore.
Sunday has begun on a positive note all over, with almost every centre performing better than both Friday and Saturday.
All Akshay Kumar films in 2014 – Special 26, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara and Boss – finished below the 70 crore mark. Holiday looks set to break that trend as the film is almost certain to collect in excess of 80 cr.

I think the length of the movie also affected collections somehow. The movie is nearly three hours long so many theatres had to air just 3 shows….

”Filmistaan” released in middle of huge critical acclaim and expectations among niche audience. Film clashed with big Akshay Kumar release ”Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty” .
Film collected modest 51 lakhs on Friday but film was epxected to jump big on Saturday. And that is what happened as film jumped by 100% on Saturday and collected 1.04 cr nett. This means film will have another jump on Sunday.
12cr isnt good. its below average for a big film considering 3300+ screens n the huge increase in business every year. n the film might not even cross 100 crores. the worst thing is the film seems to be much better than previous akshay films…
Holiday, a nice film, but i feel it could have been better.watch holiday for akki’s brilliant acting, one of the best performances of his carear along with films like garam masala. i don’t know why but some people underrate him as an actor, rating him after ranbir, but the fact is that he is much better actor then ranbir, ranbir have only one brilliant performance in his entire carear and that one is rockstar, about barfi he was very good in it but not Brilliant, his performance in films like apkgk he was okyish\good, in rocket singh,wake up sid he was just good, where in rajneeti he was very good,sawariya was good, except above performances he was okyish in all of them, so look man he was okyish/good even in those critically acclaimed films and we compare him with this man, lol!
though nothing against aamir, but Aamir fails in talaash to act well, he was okyish/good in it but look here man, with the almost same type of character, with lesser acclaimed director and lesser acclaimed film akshy sir is much much better than him it clearlly shows his talent, but must say that except @aeeye all of his fans are tortoures.
