Yash Raj Films have released the poster of their upcoming biggie Dhoom 3, and with that the production house has also revealed the release date – the Aamir Khan starrer hits theatres during Christmas 2013!
With Yashraj officially announcing the date, all the ‘holiday’ / ‘festival’ slots for 2013 are blocked by major releases.

- Post IPL weekend (May 31st) - Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone)
- EID 2013 (August 8th) - Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again (Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonali Bendre)
- Diwali 2013 – Krrish 3 (Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi)
- Christmas 2013 – Dhoom 3 (Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra)
In 2012, every holiday / festival release has crossed the 100 crore mark - Agneepath (Republic Day), Ek Tha Tiger (EID), Rowdy Rathore (Post-IPL), Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar (Diwali) have all gone on to be huge grossers. With 65 crores in 3 days, Dabangg 2 is also likely to join the club this week.
No surprise then that the lucrative holiday period has already been taken, almost a year in advance!
Ironically, two superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are left with no holidays. In the last 3 years, Salman has always ensured that he arrives with an action film during EID. However, in 2013, Balaji Motion Pictures have announced their plans to release their ambitious sequel ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again’ on August 8th. Will there be a clash? If Salman announces his film for EID, will Balaji back out?
When will SRK release his two films – Chennai Express and Happy New Year? Recently, Farah Khan said she was keen on releasing ‘HNY’ during Christmas.. how about Dhoom 3 vs Happy New Year?

Dabangg 2 started Tuesday Morning at the box office with bang. Excellent occupancies is recorded in many leading multiplexes in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon. Occupancy for Morning Shows are around 65-70% recorded on average. This is great news for the day ahead. Christmas Holiday has given a boost to the collections all India.
