Tanu Weds Manu Returns has just fallen short of the weekend business of Gabbar Is Back, even though the latter released on around 850 more screens and benefitted from a partial holiday (May 1) on the day of its release.
The Day 1 business of Tanu Weds Manu Returns was also about 5 crores lower than Gabbar Is Back, but the film more than made up for it due to positive word-of-mouth.
The Kangana Ranaut starrer has beaten Hollywood films like Avengers: The Age of Ultron and Fast and Furious 7. It has also surpassed the weekend collections of Baby and Piku – both costlier films with bigger star cast.

seriously are people in these site so stupid or is it just a banter? how can you say kangana is a bigger star than akki after two incredibly well received films by general audience. believe me I am an srk fan if an akshay film carries those fantastic praises from every sections be it critcs, celebs and word of mouth, 200cr will be cake walk for him. Please calm down kangana is a fantastic actress and can actually carry some sot of stardom but don’t compare her with male actors. if any of her film is received badily or carries mixed reports it will not even fetch 20cr where akk’s badly received films do at least 60 cr which for any kanga film will make supper hit.
Anything less than 65-80 crs will be disappointing !!!!!!! Good movie.

TWMR deserves all the success.Kangana us now the queen of Bollywood.She is getting huge appreciation from every where.Madhwan as usual is a superb actor and rest of cast too.
@Oscar who stops akki to do a film which has appreciation like this, the fact is both baby and Gabbar has fantastic wom but they aren’t able to cross 100cr, while his crap housefull 2 collected 100cr+.Akki is not having the trust in audiences after those poor films he did regularly in last 4-5 years.
