Producer Firoz Nadiadwala has announced the star cast of the third film in the popular ‘Hera Pheri’ series titled ‘Hera Pheri 3’. While two of the three lead actors in the film have been retained, there is one major change to the series.
John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, the on-screen duo of Dostana, will replace the inimitable Akshay Kumar in ‘Hera Pheri 3’. The film will be directed by Neeraj Vora who directed the second film in the series.
The first ‘Hera Pheri’ film, directed by Priyadarshan, did fairly well at the box office. But the second film ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ (2006), riding on the home video popularity of the first film, was a huge hit. The two films were popular because of the chemistry shared between Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal.
Rawal’s iconic ‘Baburai Ganpath Rao Apte’ remains one of the most popular comic characters in the history of Indian Cinema.

Hera Pheri wont be the same without Akshay. Was hoping to see the magical trio together. Not interested anymore.
This was expected since Akshay Kumar and Firoze Nadiadwala (the producer of Welcome and Hera Pheri series) don’t go along well these days since Akshay charges too much for a single film. I heard somewhere that ‘coz of Akshay’s huge demand for remuneration, he was replaced in Welcome back and now in Hera Pheri 3! Though, no doubt Akshay’s comic timing is way too hard for John and Abhishek to match. Definitely, the spark/chemistry of these 3 (Akki,PAresh and Suneil) would be missing in the film. Disappointed somewhere because of Akshay, for the sake of the film or the popularity of the series, he should have reduced his fees a little bit and work together for his audience!
I feel sorry for all the HP fans (including me) but if this is true then the last installment of HP series was Phir Hera Pheri. It ended in 2006 and someone is trying to copy the movie title and claiming it to be a sequel to PHP

HERA PHERI series is my favourite comedy movies among all comedy movies in India.Paresh Rawal is the plillar in this series.if HE is there then no bad affect could be happened with the series and HE alone can .though akki and sunil are best choice.

No offence, but John Abrahim can’t replace Akshay, in any way possible. The chemistry between Paresh-Akshay-Suniel was the best thing about previous two films.

Phir Hera Pheri was altoghter on a different level , the comic timing was great ,the film has a great recall value ,the characters are immortalized it would be very difficult to match that level

I personally thing if akki or parish won’t be a part of Hera pheri than there is no need to push the franchise further.Although I like Junior b and he has good comic timing but there is no match of akki.A half baked Hera pheri could spoil the fun of Hera pheri series.
Dont care about actors, but the director needed to be someone relevant. Priyadarshan copies, but stays true to the spirit of the movie. Second movie directed by Neeraj vora was crass and stupid. Lacked soul. Its a good franchise, going bad at the hands of a bad director

Makers of Hera Pheri want their third film to do more business than 150 crores at least, so 60 cr club actor is being left out. they can’t afford their film to cross 60 crores in lifetime, specially in today’s time when budget is increasing. but flop abhi and john can’t make it in 40 crores club. hope they cast bigger stars like sid, varoon, or even ranveer.

Are you that hateful? Hera Pheri is a cult classic and people of all age groups love it irrespective of it’s box office success. Akshay was an important member of that team. Why are you insulting him? And you say Siddarth and Varun better than Akshay? lol Both are yet to “act” in their films. They are currently ham-artists!
They are big because they have backing of Johar. And Ranveer is a wooden actor with a single expression (except may be Lootera) Dont compare them with Akshay. Get over your stupid hatred. Akshay has done good films as well!
