Hasee Toh Phasee has collected Rs 4.2 crore on its opening day at the box office. The film has done well in major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Noida and a few others, but in smaller cities / towns the business opening was way below-the-mark.
However, the big positive for Hasee Toh Phasee is that the word-of-mouth is very good, so business is expected to escalate Saturday evening onwards and put up much bigger numbers on Sunday.
The response to the film is quite similar to Dharma Productions’ 2012 release Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which also got excellent reviews and did well only at select cities, but that film took a bigger opening (5.25 cr) and went on to collect around 40 crore lifetime.
