Hasee Toh Phasee has collected Rs 4.2 crore on its opening day at the box office. The film has done well in major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Noida and a few others, but in smaller cities / towns the business opening was way below-the-mark.
However, the big positive for Hasee Toh Phasee is that the word-of-mouth is very good, so business is expected to escalate Saturday evening onwards and put up much bigger numbers on Sunday.
The response to the film is quite similar to Dharma Productions’ 2012 release Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which also got excellent reviews and did well only at select cities, but that film took a bigger opening (5.25 cr) and went on to collect around 40 crore lifetime.

Well,i enjoyed the movie.it has a simple story.but it was the cinematography and direction which make the movie more powerful.some scenes were very funny.you willn’t get bored.
Performancewise, sid is nice with his role.but the movie is all about pareeniti.her performance is just amazing.i don’t think many of a list female star of today’s bollywood could have done it so effeciently.she was very sweet,funny and innocent.
Music is good.i loved ishq bulava and zehnaseeb mostly.
I would go with 3. not more than that as this one isn’t a masterpiece.just watch it and forget in 15 minutes.it’s only good for entertainment,but story is similar to many rom-com films though presentation is different.anyhow,deserves a watch and well done pareeniti.

It’s better than yjhd. But @indicine:did it really deserve 4 stars? ? I mean last year you gave 4+ to a few movies including the lunchbox,lootera and bombey talkies. Is it in that league? ? I don’t think so.

Yes, similarly to what you have said, the first day collections of HTP was better than that of Don 2 because it (HTP) was released in lesser numbers of cinema and that too, during a non-festive time. Besides, it didn’t have a Farhan Akhtar, Haakhla Lungi Thakur, Piggy Chop and a legendary name (of Amitji) attched to it.
Salman Khan is a person that will be eternally remembered by all because of his noble work through Charity Foundation, Being Human. Your Sarkar of Paglapur will be remembered by few people in the film industry but forgotten by others as he faces his demises. Take Rajesh Khanna and alike for examples.
The Paglapurians’ favorite website, BOI, has declared “Jai Ho” a Semi-Hit. So, stop ranting, Sakhi Ranting Rawant!!
