Happy New Year has gone past the lifetime business of Bang Bang in just 10 days after its release. The Shahrukh Khan starrer benefitted from a solo Diwali release, had the widest ever screen count, costlier ticket prices and had significantly higher number of shows. Bang Bang released with Haider and had plenty of holidays in its first week. The Hrithik Roshan film did well enough to collect Rs 179.3 crore at the domestic box office, including business from all versions.

@babaji is that something to be proud of that hrithik was the first choice for ett?he was also the first choice for swades as well.shahrukh was for wanted .salman for chak de india.Actors refuse to be part of those films of which they are sure that they couldnt carry it to success or that the role wont suit them.
Exactly my point.that production houses are well aware of hrithik’s less following in mass regions which is why they dont feel it appropriate to release his films on festivals.

Sunday showed a huge jump for HNY. This is looking good. 2nd Week might add 40+ crores. 3rd week will easily add 20+ crores.
HNY looks like a 220+ crores film now.
Indicine: there is no point in comparing these 2 films as Hrithik is nowhere close to SRK. SRK is the king and his movies can easily collect more than any other actor’s movies except the other 2 khans(Salman & Aamir) even if they turn out to be bad like HNY. Hats off to all the khans for ruling this industry for over 2 decades now. No one really deserves to be even close to you guys.

dabangg 2’s official collection is baout 158 and boi’s figure is around 150 crore.
difference is very less in dhoom 3 as the PRODUCERS manipulated the collections only in the first weekend to break the first weekend record of CE, whereas in lifetime collections they didnt need to do that.
and accoeding to boi,krish 3’s collection was around 175 crore and not 193 whch u have quoted.
and lastly,according to boi YJHD collected 178 crores and official collection is 188 crores.Do u call this a large difference??

according to box office india dhoom3 collected 260cr not 274,,,, and kick collected 216cr not 213 cr. box office india actual trade fig publish karte hai. they are not publishing manipulating producer fig.
I’ve seen many srk fan saying that dhoom3 collected bcoz of brand.But is it really the case,now let’s compare dhoom3 and don2,bcoz both have brand value and both were christmas release.
Now,according to srk fans don2 is masterclass action film,best action film ever made in bollywood but it didn’t even crossed ghajini’s collection forget about 3i.
But srk fan said dhoom3 was a crap film,bla bla bla.But what happened it crossed 270+cr.
So u can clearly see brand value can only help upto weekend.So srk fans don’t bark everywhere that d3 collected bcoz of brand or u want to argue that srk isnot a brand lol
@babaji ka thullu and @Challa,everything may be in FAVOURITE but the biggest problem is the film is 3 hour long for such a short story although the film is most entertaining otherwise it would have easily beat kick’s record at least which still not decided yet.so neither domestic nor overseas audience likes this much length movie containing comedy mostly and content very less,that’s the main problem but KING KHAN proved HIMSELF as the BIGGEST CROWD PULLER if the Industry that’s satisfied enough.

@Noam the 4 holidays were only advantages. But except sunday, the other 3 days were still working days in some parts of India. They are not as big as holidays like aug 15 or diwali holiday or eid holiday.
As for HNY vs BangBang comparision,
1. Story: both are flawed.
2. Direction: Both were poor.
3. Screenplay: both were weak,but HNY had the poorer one.
4. Editing: BangBang>>HNY
5. Cinematography: BangBang>>HNY
6. Music: BangBang>>>HNY
7. Choreography: BangBang>>>>>HNY
And most importantly, the entire HNY movie was brainless. BangBang had also loopholes in the plot,but those are not as much as in case of HNY.
Btw, both were let down, even though HNY is the bigger one.
