Happy New Year has gone past the lifetime business of Bang Bang in just 10 days after its release. The Shahrukh Khan starrer benefitted from a solo Diwali release, had the widest ever screen count, costlier ticket prices and had significantly higher number of shows. Bang Bang released with Haider and had plenty of holidays in its first week. The Hrithik Roshan film did well enough to collect Rs 179.3 crore at the domestic box office, including business from all versions.

No,luck is not that big factor dude.
Yes wanted is a much more loved film than b’guard but it released when sallu was giving flops after flops while b’guard was released after ATBB dabangg.That is the difference.
Ur perception about HNY is wrong,just bcoz u loved it more than CE,u can’t say it was a more loved one..NO.
CE was more entertaining film tjan HNY,Don2 without any doubt..it had competition in every subsequent weeks n still managed 226crs whereas HNY is struggling.
Look at second weekends of both films. Almost same.
Bang Bang added about 25cr after second Sunday.
Maybe HNY will also add that much only rest of its lifetime.
Means lifetime will be about 205cr.

Don 2 was deterred probably by huge negativity that SRK’s RaOne got..
YJHD had excellent music,RK-DP pair,Dharma prod and was an out and out commercial film that everyone can enjoy..not the same with Barfi.
@babaji ka thullu and @Challa,everything may be in FAVOUR but the biggest problem is the film is 3 hour long for such a short story although the film is most entertaining otherwise it would have easily beat kick’s record at least which still not decided yet.
so neither domestic nor overseas audience likes this much length movie containing comedy mostly and content very less,that’s the main problem but KING KHAN proved HIMSELF as the BIGGEST CROWD PULLER of the industry.
@nipun ask hrithik to cross ett first..dont write the inflated figures as everyone is well aware of that..if hrithik has the guts,why isnt he booking any festive release date.Moreover,trade wants movies of salman,aamir and shahrukh to release on festivals as they are the ones who guarantee the highest footfalls.
That is proved now..Without holidays srk is nothing.
HNY’s performance at the boxoffice has proved one thing—- 200crs is not a cakewalk!
Still people expect Akki to give 200cr grosser without festive release,which is too difficult.
Around 150crs collection is outstanding for a non festive released film..
very good collection with Only deewali holiday was there.bt in case of kick enjoyed two holiday eid and post eid so not big deal to cross even 200 cr.even D3 had three holidays cristmus new year etc…i m not including sunday here…with that reason and 3 hour timming i think HNY clear winner…And definetly it will cross 220 mark in india..
I dnt like srk instead i can prefer uday chopda’s acting in dhoom3. what a great dialouge by him – ‘ do do india bana rakha hai’.

First of all hrithik does’nt decides to book his film for festive release,its the production houses who decides.
I think aamir is the most involved actor in decision making.
Hrithik also can deliver huge grossers on holidays without any doubt…i am 100% sure it would have done much better than Hny had it released on diwali.
And don’t forget hrithik was the 1st choice for ETT.

hrithik roshan was a good hero at knph times everybody loved his simple rohit version but later he devloped raj version in himself more then he became quality hero but we single screen audience wanted that rohit (knph) back. hope.

watched Happy New Year,Here is my review.
Story-nothing new or anything which we haven’t seen before except srk 8 pack abs.
ScreenPlay-Its was very poor in first half,there wasn’t a single entertaining moment for me except intro of Sonu and Abhi,srk has full of superstar entry with his old films dialogue,don’t know about other but I simply dislike his physique it was well built but not suits him.Here we should not talk about logics as masala entertainer never about logics.
Second half was good after first 20 mins,I like two things especially
1.fight between srk and Korean specially srk fly back scene when he fall down due to kick of Korean,similarly when he saved Korean child on stage.
2.Robbery,Farah and team managed to give some logical robbery sequence, planning and execution was superb.
Overall first half was nothing but second half is good.
Performances-All the actors given earnest performance as the way their director wants from them.Srk has given one of his poorest performance of recent time,he was strictly average for me,in first half he looks older and just given same performance which we have seen from him multipletimes,his dialogue delivery remind me his accent in Don series,in second half he looks good and good in intense scene as usual so overall average.Deepika didn’t have much to do in this film,her role was nothing compare to CE but she is good to average whatever she did.Abhishek shines in this film,whenever he was on screen audience wants that he will say something or do idiocy,he was show stealer in this film,Boman Irani was good but the king of actor he is,I wish he should do better roles.he is funnier but in some scenes while in some he irritates.Sonu sood was good,in some scenes he managed to entertain with his listening disability but he has superb physique.Vivan given decent performance.
Direction-Farah is such a waste of director,except MHN she never given anything good as a director,though oso was good but its due to srk,deepika and other cast superb performance and music was brilliant.Tmk was bad but hny was poor,except robbery scene she didn’t given anything as a director.
Editing was poor,film can be cut 30 mins,cinematography was best thing about the film, grand scale,superb location,lots of money spend or I can say wasted.Music is big let down, except satakli song which came atcright situation when we Indians feel good as our loosers team get chance as finalist. Manwa page was good but as we have seen song on TV many times so it bores on screen.Music was a big letdown as a srk film music is always good but its lacks that not a single song is chartbuster.
Overall I would give 2/5.
Its a film which you can watch in theatre as in theatre a half baked jokes able to make you smile but only if you are fan of either of any actor.This film is like Farah way to happy srk to strong their bond as it her tribute to srk the way she used his old dialogues and signature steps.
Talking about collection,producer figure will touch and go 200cr mark to make srk first actor to give back to back 200cr but as o’er trade film will remain being ett,yjhd may be.
Final word-its been very disappointing for me the way srk doing films after rnbdj,except CE I didn’t like any of his film from last 6 years,though I don’t lie him but I loved his film pre 2008 like vz,paheli,cdi,rbndj,k3g,mohabbatein,ddlj,bbaazigar etc.Among his upcoming I have hopes from fan and Rohit sheety next but not from Don 3 oops sorry Raees.

HNY is the second movie this year who had 2 open weeks after Kick but its not trending well.

Veteran Hindi and Marathi actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar passed away Monday morning. The actor, who was suffering from Lung infection, was being treated at a suburban hospital. In a critical condition, the actor was hospitalized for two weeks in the ICU and breathed his last today morning.
Hahaha both film disappointed the trade and audience but good release date and popular actor-actress made both film successful.I have seen both film and I don’t think I would ever like to watch them again though if I rate who is the best of these two,I pick bang-2 as it was slightly better than HNY.

Take in the official fox star count of 4300 in India alone. What else do u want. Prior to bang bang release every one had predicted it to wash out haider. And as far as critics go every big release is bashed by the critics.

1.Boi under reporting it happens for all films as producer want to show inflated figure normally.
2.HNY is very long-while length affected only opening day figure,a 8 min lesser run time film crossed 270cr while 3.7 billions fans star film failed.
3.HNY has flop director-those fans who were expecting next mhn and oso now giving excuse for tmk2,earlier film starred with king and queen of Bollywood,some fans like romance,sss,vikram,sakhi farah is better director than Raju hirani.Now its only srk magic,lol they are too smart.
4.Srk is first actor to have back to back 200cr,earlier same fans barking for hr when k3 claimed they beat CE as trade not expecting that it cross 200cr as per trade film stand on 160cr all version.
5.Best joke ever,film has just one holiday-diwali than what was bhai duj and Sunday aren’t they were holiday.

HNY clearly dropped because of the bad wom and negativity about Farah’s last directorial TMK. It insane that people are comparing HNY with TMK and absolutely bizarre that they are going to next level bring Sajid’s and Sirish’s movie in the mix as well.
