Happy New Year continued its good run at the box office on its second Monday. The film has collected around 3 crore net, the 11-day total now at 182.81 crore net.
The Shahrukh Khan starrer is the 8th highest grosser of all time behind films like Dhoom 3, Krrish 3, Kick, Chennai Express, 3 Idiots, Ek Tha Tiger and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Happy New Year is likely to collect 33-35 crore in its second week. The film should cross the 200 crore mark in its third weekend.

I always said it will only give competition to Ek tha tiger which released 2 years back with a lot lesser screens and lesser ticket price. Forget kick and just dream about breaking dhoom 3 record. Its another crap srk movie. with huge promotion and widest release still struggling for 200 cr. RIP srk fans and don’t bark now with excuses.

Please note BOI figure is in Hindi only, if u add other version tan difference between official and BOI drop down to 15- 16 crores which is okey & acceptable and yes it will not break Kick record because its trending is not good like kick but kick’s trending was good but not good as like chennai express, the only reason it broke CE record is it release on more screen from chennai express and though its trending is not as good as CE but also not bad as like bang bang or happy new year….

@aeey I call bs on your comment. Akshay had a very good movie(Holiday) with a popular/excellent director and popular mass actress releasing on one of the best periods of the year i.e. after the IPL. However it only did 112 crore. YJHD released at that time last year(2013) and did 179 crore so it is well known the period after IPL is great time to release a movie. Before that Ready did 120 crore in 2011, even Rowdy Rathore did 132 in 2012. It shows that askhay star power is one the decline so stop talking nonsense about Khans and festive periods becuz even if akki got a festive period NOW then his movie will underperform even worse than Jai HO, BB and HNY. Distributors know this and thats why they give khans and HR festive periods.
I am not bashing akki, accept this truth. Even you know this is true. He was in top 3 in 2007-2008 and could have still been at the top now if he choose better scripts and released max 2 films a year. He is responsible for his own decline as he does 3-4 movies a year for money no matter how crappy the film is(e.g. Khalidi 786,QUATIMD, Joker and Boss etc.). U akki fans tell him to be more selective and release less movies, then he will return to top 3/5.
So stop coming on here and bashing khans and festive release. They get festive release since they have biggest fan following and box office potential.

@WTF Dont be foolish you know by now that boi only publishes hindi only collections so 157 core is hindi only. Add 6 cr tamil plus telegu = 163 crore so difference is only 19 core which is about the same as kick and CE.
