Half Girlfriend is sustaining well at the box office during the weekdays, with the film showing normal drops of around 10% every day. The Arjun Kapoor starrer has crossed the 45-crore mark in 6 days and would end Week 1 with net box office collections of around 49 crore.
The first week collections will be about the same as last year’s ‘Befikre’ and ‘Udta Punjab’. It’ll be about 5% better than films like ‘Dear Zindagi’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons’ but around 5% lower than ‘Dishoom’.
The collections are also about 30% higher than Arjun Kapoor’s last film ‘Ki & Ka’ (37.57 crore Week 1) and more than double the lifetime business of Shraddha Kapoor’s last two disasters ‘Rock On 2’ and ‘Ok Jaanu’.
The Week 1 of Half Girlfriend will be about 15% lower than the last film that was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel – 2 States – but that film had one additional holiday for Good Friday on its first day.
The hold tomorrow (2nd Friday) and the trend over the second weekend will decide whether the film can go on to become a success (70 crore plus range) or finish up as an average grosser.

Advantage of Post IPL period that’s why this period is one of the best after EDX even a good movie can do better than Diwali in this period like YJHD, TWMR, TJB etc..

It is being benefited from post IPL period…though IPL has lost it’s old charm still Youth were highly attached to it in that period…so now They are opting for romantic movie which has a back up also named Chetan Bhagat who is very popular among youth!!let’s see how far It goes!!
Half Girlfriend till now should have been successful but because of negative wom and competition with Hindi Medium and Bahubali 2 it is facing a tough time . Sachin : A Billion Dreams releases tomorrow and it has been declared tax free in Chattisgarh, Kerela and Odisha . The numbers of screens will be reduced for HG, HM and Bahubali 2 . Bahubali 2 has already done more than anybody expected in their wildest dreams . HM is receiving extremely positive response from critics and audience and is a sureshot success . It may even emerge more successful it it does well in the 2nd weekend . Sachin is made on a limited budget and there is anticipation among people to watch Sachin in Cinema Halls . So Half Girlfriend has a tough road ahead to emerge successful .

Watched Half Girlfriend last evening. It is a disappointing fare as I had expected more from Mohit Suri. The movie touches your heart in parts but over all it is a pretty ordinary screenplay. Arjun Kapoor’s best performance after 2 States. He carries the entire movie. Shradhha is wasted and does not match up the role. I wish Kirti Sanon or Disha Patani should have been casted instead of Shraddha !!!!!!!
49 cr in 1st Week + 15 cr approx in 2nd week + 6-7 cr in lifetime = 70-71 cr ..Means Hit on way
