Great Grand Masti is one of the biggest disasters of the year, as the film has collected less than Rs 3 crore on its opening day at the box office. Piracy has completely ruined a film that would’ve probably opened at 12-13 crore.
The decision to release the film a week after Sultan has also back-fired big time, as the Salman Khan starrer was not only the first choice at multiplexes, but it also ensured that Great Grand Masti didn’t get a wide enough release at smaller centres.
Looking at the occupancy for the morning shows on Saturday, Great Grand Masti could finish with lifetime business of less than 12 crore – which was what the previous film, Grand Masti, collected on its opening day! The losses will be huge. The film will struggle to even recover its marketing and release cost.
Meanwhile, Sultan continued its strong run on its 10th day at the box office. The film has collected Rs 7.43 crore on its second Friday to take its 10-day total to Rs 236.6 crore. A big jump in business is expected today, which will help the film get closer to the 250 crore mark. Only 3 films have crossed the 250 crore – Dhoom 3, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Sultan will become the 4th tomorrow.
The film is also the 2nd highest Eid grosser after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and has beaten the 2014 film Kick in less than 10 days.

Bro sometold him long ago when he was aspiring to be a big star. Vivek dont show tantrums like shahrukh khan as u r still to be a shahrukh khan. In positive notes he said yes u have potential. He was a good actor i wont say great coz he shows the flash of greatness but he lost his spark in his initial round itself. Well we all know intensity for aishwarya was a craze for salman n they were madly in love. Aishwarya was ambitious and salman’s asking for quick marriage and act to be a next door girl was too much to handle. Than there happens regular chaos sometimes on the movie sets as well which lead aishwarya to loose some plum projects as well. She was than looking for a scape goat whom she can ask salman to pray and hence will be able to kill two birds with one stone. Vivek plays the victim and do rediculous which hardly anyone can forget, forget salman. Well now forgivings is too late. Whatever happened was happened it makes no sense. What difference will it make if they patch up. They are different person living different lives. Let them be happy on their ways. Best would be not crossing eachother’s path if possible coz that will bring back old wounds. Guys no two person are same we r human. We can only compare orange with orange in case of human its always different, even finger prints dont match, even retina display wont match so how can we be so immature and ask salman to act like someone else. Actually he is a right man in a wrong place. Is it wrong to love someone truly, is it wrong to be emotional and think straight from the heart, is it wrong to be a true friend and expect ur friend to be loyal or is it wrong to ask your partner to lets tie the knot and settle down. Its only that he is in wrong industry but than this gives him a lot this makes him messiah of masses. We identify him we commoners know his pain what he went through how it hurts and how manly is to be salman to face it all. He is human he errs he fall he cry and he stands tall among all.
